From inspiration of similar threads. Feel free and compelled to add any I am missing - and I am sure I am missing a lot.

Asian Domain/Gardens:
Asian Elephant
Sloth Bear

Main Aviary:
Honestly, this section has turn over and no real "main" bird being focused on. The Greater hornbills are not on exhibit normally, but they are still at the zoo.

Other:
Naked mole rats (I have been told they may still be at the zoo, but they are not on display)
Red Panda (temp loan)
Tasmanian Devil (temp loan)
Sarus crane

Old Lowry Park Zoo (before the major remodel):
Lion (unknown)
Sea Lion
Penguin (unknown)
Jaguar (one reference I found)
Monkey (unknown species)


The old zoo is a bit before my time of memory. I recall going as a young child, but I can only remember the chimps, lions, tiger, bear, and sea lion, outside of that I don't have personal memory of what was there.

Looking back in the Lowry Park gallery, Common Duiker & Royal Antelope were both displayed in Safari Africa a couple of years ago.
 
Also, strike nurse shark, they recently added them back in the aquarium area. They have one small one in the larger salt tank.
 
@SwampDonkey: Add Gerenuks and Persian Leopards (Asian Domain) to your list.

Question: Do you know when they exhibited Tasmanian Devils? (something about.. would already help)

Thanks, do you have any info on the gerenuk's? Now that you mention it, I have heard about them before at Zoo Tampa, but I don't remember them being in the area - do you remember where they were at in Safari Africa?

I have also heard that Safari Africa had Royal Antelope at one point, but I do not recall it myself.

As for the devils, it must have been the late 90s or early 2000s, but I am not sure of the exact dates. I think (though I am open to correction) that they were in the current komodo dragon inside area (used when weather is cold).

There are a couple of photos in the gallery of the Royal Antelope. I believe they had a little success with the species, but it wasn’t enough to save the species, unfortunately. The only one left in North America is a male at SDZSP, which may or my not still be alive.

I already mentioned this, but there were at one point Common Duikers in Safari Africa.

SDZSP has royal antelope? Where is/was his habitat located? Either he lives bts or has passed away because I did not see a royal antelope habitat in any of my recent visits.
 
ZooTampa still has bongo as of August 2021. Did they phase them out since then? They live in the back of the Africa exhibit, the portion that can only be seen from the safari truck tour.

The Gerenuk had an enclosure adjacent from the current Nyala exhibit in "Africa". Unfortunately I don't know when they stopped keeping them (must be somewhere in the 2010s)

And thanks for the info about the devils. I'm a little amazed that they were not kept in "Australia" but in "Asia" instead.

I am not sure, I left off some small animals that are or were used in outreach, shows, and were normally BTS as it was - without a contact at the zoo anylonger it is hard to say with any certainty. Possible additions to the list are galago, squirrel monkey, several tamarins, etc.

I left out some duiker species as they have at least yellow backed duikers on the tram tour, and the people running the tour do a terrible job knowing what animals are out there unless they are looking right at them. They very well may be gone, but without confirmation I hesitate to add them to the list.

Ah yes, they probably are still there. They used to be in the nyala habitat, but you are right, they are on the tram tour.

Thanks, they have marabou stork in there now (as of this past Saturday).

I am not sure if they were there before Wallaroo station was built, but it may have been around that time, which would make a good reason for them to not be in Australia.

The royal antelope in question is/was a female living behind the scenes at the San Diego Zoo, not the Safari Park. She was still alive this past spring, but I do not know if she is still alive now.

I can assure you that there are no common duiker left in any public collections in North America. There might still be some knocking about in private collections, but I'm not sure. Larry Johnson had a sizeable group there for awhile.
