My name is Maria and I love animals in general I’m a vet assistant and I’m absolutely obsessed about orcas and I’m very pro animals under human care as long as they are treated the right way and receive excellent care I’m all for it.
I love learning about the IDs and the names of each individual animal and their differences (likes or dislikes). I know most of the orcas IDs and some the Belugas

I also love orcas, they’ve been ones of my favorite animals since I was a little kid. I have learned a lot about the captive orca population in the last year or so and can now identify a couple individual orcas!
 
I have been learning about them since I was 12 years old and I am now 38 years old I know how to ID most of them. Some are easier to ID I am trying to learn the ones that are now in Shanghai and Chimelong.

Lol yes if I know there are orcas in a zoological facility I first ask where they are? See them spend lots of hours and then see the other animals if there are no orcas then I see them in order and don’t hurry lol.

Wow that's a long time lol. Hopefully, you'll be able to ID Shanghai and Chimelong's whales soon! Who would you say your favorite captive orca is?

No, my username and profile photo are Mai Thai a female Indian Elephant that lives at the Cincinnati Zoo in the US. There are no elephants at Zoo Antwerpen with the name of Mai Thai, only two bulls named Sam and Assam.

When I went there was 2 females and a baby…awww this was in 2004-2005.
