Betty White Passes Away

Betty White not only has been one of the longest supporters of Los Angeles Zoo AND The Aquarium of the Pacific AND Americas Teaching Zoo but she was also a very large advocate for zoos. For decades including the years leading up to her death she championed the conservation work done by zoos and constantly taught people about what they do. She was an honorary forest ranger and advocated for publicity on the important message of Smokey the Bear. She was a true advocate for nature and it’s preservation.
But nature conservation aside (sorry) she was an advocate for many other things. She was one of the first in Hollywood to advocate for African American rights. She gave screen time to an African American tap dancer on her show, and when there was backlash from white viewers she only gave him more screen time defying the status quo. She also championed LGBTQ rights and openly supported gay marriage in 2010. She was a revolutionary and a true activist for all her life.
We will not forget Betty White. She was an amazing person and an absolutely joyous person. She made all of us laugh in her many TV shows and appearances. She may not have reached her 100th birthday but she still left a lasting impact on this world.

Betty truly made the world a better place, it is devastating she had to pass but truly a blessing she was here in the first place.

Betty White was such a strong advocate for zoos and aquariums. It is extremely common to see "animal lover" celebrities that cash out thousands of dollars of PETA and other organizations, but Betty seemed to truly understand the amazing work that zoos do and understood how much influence zoos have on wild populations.
