Wisconsin Zoos

Based on my visit to the Concord Zoo a few years ago, I would not qualify it as an actual zoo. It is simply a petting zoo that is meant to draw people into the gas station/general store. Everything they had was a domestic species. Yes, we can sit and argue over the peafowl, but I would echo @TinoPup in saying that isn't enough to move it from a petting zoo to actual zoo in my book.

I agree. My uncle has a pair of peafowl on his farm, but I wouldn't consider it an exotic animal facility :p

The small farm I petsit at has a pair of Indian that they got from a farmer down the road that breeds them, and then there's a feral green that wandered over from who knows where and fell in love with their peahen. He's on their property most of the time.

That's kind of amazing! Green Peafowl aren't exactly common in captivity, so feral one wandering around is amazing!

Yeah, the green one is weird! I've found a few breeders on the internet but not many. The farmer breeding the Indians moved so he didn't come from there and they haven't heard of any other breeders or keepers, except ones with birds originating from that guy. Feed gets put out for him every day and they're thinking about building a run for him. He's gorgeous.
