Theoretical walkthroughs

I know this thread seems to have been inactive for quite some time but how would red pandas do in a walkthrough?
It doesn't seem realistic.
Red Pandas should feel distressed if many humans cross "their" territory, and would be prone to hide or flee. There wouldn't be interactions between the public and these shy animals (that aren't lemurs or monkeys), it would be disappointing for the visitors and not interesting for the animals.

Knoxville Zoo actually has a "walk-through" exhibit with red pandas. I've never been, but have seen pictures/videos of the exhibit.

This isn't really a walkthrough though, since the panda's can't actually get onto the path

I wouldn't do them for a full walkthrough, but you can do a walk-under enclosure. Where the panda's can climb over branches across the path

There are a lot of vulture walk-trough aviaries. But I am not awaer of any andean condor walk trough aviaries. They don't seem to be particualr agrassive, and with their gigantic size it would be a cool idea to see them fly in person

They have Andean Condors in the South American walk-through aviary at Doué-la-fontaine.
South Lakes had a walk-through aviary with various New World vultures, including condor.

Which species do you have in mind? Grouse sensu lato is quite an extensive group, with birds I wouldn’t want to mess with and birds that I’ve almost stepped on in the wild because they were so inconspicuous and shy.
I was thinking the Siberian grouse but I don't know how much information is available since it is hardly ever kept in captivity (I'm designing a Siberian aviary).

Maybe a black grouse (Lyrurus tetrix) would be a more realistic replacement, seeing that they're kept in a lot more zoos

If I would follow my gut-feeling, I think they could be considered safe to keep in the same aviary as visitors as they are not that huge (comparable to argus pheasants perhaps, which are kept in walk-throughs)

I'm wondering about African monkeys in walkthrough exhibits.

I know of Hamlyn's monkeys in Doue La Fontaine and Northern talapoin and Barbary Macaque in Apenheul. But have Colobus monkeys ever been held in a walkthrough?

Also: Just general monkey walkthroughs? Lemurs and Squirrel / Capuchin monkeys are common, and Callitrichids / New world monkeys in general are seen quite a few times. But does anyone know of any particularly interesting ones?

Yes, London Zoo recently opened a walk-through enclosure for colobus monkeys. And the new area in the Apenheul will feature free-roaming King colobus monkeys. As far as I know, there are some other zoos that also have walk-through enclosures for colobus monkeys.

The first thing that comes to mind is the walk-through enclosure with Hanuman langurs at the Apenheul.

I’m just curious as to whether a walkthrough with tree-kangaroo would work or if the kangaroo would be distressed by the people walking through?
