ZooChat Challenge Global 2022

I am not very confident about this list and if some of them might be wrong, as I am not very sure about the Latin terms. For example I don't know if I could include Rock Hyraxes in this list which I saw with the Aadvarks.

The list looks good to me, and hyraxes are not being counted.

Thanks- I was reading the list of species included in the challenge, while trying to remember the species I saw today, and then comparing them to the name on the Colchester Zoo website. It was a bit confusing and it doesn't help that I didn't get to see species such as Hyena, Amur Leopard, and such that I probably would have seen with a longer visit. It is fine though as I will probably visit again as long as the Easter Holiday, and hopefully I will get to visit more zoos this year.

That's a nice line-up! I thought Berlin had received Sunda Slow Loris for the nocturne house, though?

Because New World opossums have short lifespans. If they have been breeding them they would be the same stock, but if not then the animal(s) they have had in the past will probably be dead and replaced with another animal(s) which may or may not be the same species.
Additionally, it's Derby's, not Bare-Tailed that has been being imported into the US in large quantities these past few years.

For the sake of the challenge, I will let you count the woolly-opossum as it was signed.

Just an add-on to these posts, I was looking through the gallery for the Shell Factory and one of Giant Eland's photos from 2014 actually shows an opossum with pouch-young. So the animals they have now probably are still the same species.

Got myself to another aquarium today, with a grand total of one shark species! It was new for the challenge though so can't complain too much! :)

Chessington World Of Adventures - 29/01/22

17. Indochinese Clouded Leopard (Neofelis nebulosa)

Not a great haul, and did have a few no-shows that should be easy enough to pick up over the coming months but there were a lot of people there and there wasn't really much inclination to linger. Fortunately the missing species were foxes, armadillos, and servals so nothing majorly devastating or unusual.

Hoping I can get to some smaller places soon with some decent totals! ;)
It was my birthday yesterday so decided to make a day of it and knock off a few collections! :p Hopefully this is everything seen yesterday, if not then I'm sure someone will remind me of anything I've missed.

I've put them down as Pardine as well, but if I go to All Things Wild and see there "definite" Pardine then I might look into their provenance a bit more... ;):p

Wow! Never noticed that in the photo before. I wonder if they received a pregnant wild-caught animal or if they actually bred them.
