I didn't take pictures of the new site when i visited in May of 2019, but I do remember seeing it. Looking at the pictures you posted, while I think there has been progress, it's not nearly as much as you would expect with over a year of construction
Agreed not as much done as expected, especially considering it was supposed to have opened two years ago!
 
So I went to the zoo today and it looks great (I posted some photos in the forum) but I noticed there were still three exhibits that weren't finished. One was a row of exhibits that looked like they would hold small birds or mammals. There was a nocturnal house with two outdoor exhibits on both sides. And there was the reptile house at the front of the zoo.
 
Other 2021 news (Part 1)

On January 3rd, the zoo announced that a (0.1) grey wolf named Noelle passed away due to a significant health decline. She was 11 years old at the time of passing.

On January 20th, the zoo announced that all of their program birds have been moved into their new exhibits.

On March 5th, the zoo announced they have acquired a (1.0) grey fox named Mozart after he was hit by a car and brought to the zoo in October, which resulted in one of his rear legs getting amputated.

On March 12th, the zoo announced that a (0.1) fallow deer named Taffy passed away due to a rapid decline in health. She was 20 years old at the time of passing.

On April 1st, the zoo announced they have acquired a (1.0) red fox named Friar Tuck. He was found on a beach near a high school in southern California.

On April 9th, the zoo announced that a (0.0.1) flicker (species name not given) was released back into the wild after coming to the zoo in December 2020 with multiple fractures.

Also on April 9th, the zoo announced that a (0.0.1) gopher (species name not given) was released back into the wild.

On April 27th, the zoo showcased an exhibit in their new Nocturnal House for their ringtails.

On May 6th, the zoo announced that their coyotes are now sharing the same exhibit after living in separate exhibits for many years. They were introduced to each other in April.

On May 20th, the zoo announced they have released a (1.0) Humbolt's flying squirrel back into the wild after being found orphaned.

Also on May 21st, the zoo announced they have released a (1.0) black-tailed jackrabbit after it was found suffering from head trauma, as well as having some broken teeth.

On June 1st, the zoo announced that on May 29th, a (1.0) grey wolf named Blair was euthanized due to having cancer. He was 11 years old and was the alpha male of the pack.

On July 27th, the zoo announced the deaths of a (1.0) striped skunk named Macha and a (0.0.1) eastern screech owl named Pumpkin, both due to age-related issues.

On September 10th, the zoo announced that a (1.0) red fox named Pippin and a (1.0) American kestrel named Slater have both passed away from a cancerous growth in his mouth and advanced liver disease respectively.

On October 25th, the zoo announced that a (0.1) American badger named Lotus Blossom and a (1.0) coyote named Bonzai have both passed away. The cause of death for Lotus is unknown, however, Bonzai passed away from heart failure.
