Visited the park today the the geladas was quite active and saw the hyenas. Does anyone know if the male is still there ???
When I visited in late December he was in the small enclosure and the female and young male were in the main part.

Does anyone know we’re the gelada baboons come from and we’re the two males that came into the the troop later came from

(From there facebook) Vladimir the male tiger was pts
With heavy hearts we have said goodbye to our beloved Vladimir. The sad decision was made last night with our vets as he was struggling with a chronic back problem that had suddenly worsened. He was a big part of Yorkshire Wildlife Park and our hearts go out to our Rangers who have loved and cared for him since he arrived at Land of the Tiger ❤️

Devastating news he was an impressive animal if I remember correctly, he will be very sadly missed. was he the breeding male?

Yes Vlad was the only male tiger they had. Father to the three cubs Harley, Hope and Hector.

Aren't the 2 females quite old at yoirkshire though. Potentially these could be moved on or once they die out a breeding pair could be brought in because there are only the 2 enclosures

I think the reptiles are offshow but get brought out for the shows.

Guinea fowl are free roaming
Black swan used to be in the goose pond
The macaws used to be part of the flight shows
Common marmoset are no longer held after the cotton tops replaced them in their enclosure
Limousine cattle were part of the world farm, and then at the end of the car park in an off show paddock, with the other world farm animals
The owls used to be held in the wooded area near the lemurs, with other birds of prey and small mammals, but these aviaries were demolished
I also would like to know about the mongoose, however, as I’ve not seen them in a while…

.I had no idea the Guinea fowl free range
. Are the cattle near old or new car park
. Once i saw a picture of a moongoose in the offshow area near lions

The Guineafowl used to be a part of the ‘sheep and goat walkthrough’ but have since become free-range. They are kept in a coop next to the geese at night and in poor weather. I usually see them around the tsavo bake house or in their coop:)
The cattle were near the house upon entry to the old car park. I don’t know if this is still the case as obviously that is no longer accessible to public.
Interesting about the mongoose, it would be nice if they are still held:)
