What was the seventh zoo? I see RWPZ, Buttonwood, Lupa, Southwicks, Riverside, and Forest Park, but no seventh? Definitely impressive to hit so many over just two days!

Capron Park, which evidently did not have any additions for this challenge. My personal record for most zoos in a day has been 3 since 2016 when I first went to the UK. I've more often done 2, especially domestically, but never 4 before (had planned to in 2016 but decided to drop a collection to spend more time elsewhere).

Day 1 was Buttonwood to Roger Williams to Capron Park to Southwick's. Only the first two were planned ahead with CP being a potential option if I felt I had time but then CP took so little time to visit (less than 45 minutes with the rainforest building closed and most of the nocturnal house sitting empty) so I spontaneously threw in Southwick's.

Day 2 was Riverside Reptiles to Forest Park to Lupa.

This is my first time visiting Buttonwood, Capron Park, and Riverside Reptiles as well. If I could change anything, I would probably have given myself about 30 minutes longer at Buttonwood (I had to schedule a timed entry for Roger Williams which sort of tied my hands a little). I was particularly impressed with that zoo and would have enjoyed a little more time even though I did see everything I wanted.

Wow! Sounds like a nice two days, glad you could visit some of my home zoos! Buttonwood is one of my favorite New England zoos (I keep going back and forth whether I prefer Buttonwood or Roger Williams), but is certainly an incredible little zoo! I'm also partial to Capron as my hometown zoo, but it was certainly a better zoo ten years ago than it is now. Still has its nice parts though :). I haven't been to any of your "Day Two zoos" but hope to visit some soon.

Forgot to update that one, will make sure to correct it moving forward!

I double-checked the original post and the edit says 5 bears, so one less than I got but one more than not needing the two :p Unless that was updated later and the original post not edited again?

No, you needed 5. I was just putting it as an aside because you'd finished it either way, but I didn't want people to be confused :)

Were they in the final exhibit across from the Capercaillie? It was under renovation when I saw ir last week.
Military macaw was actually on display in Astor Court weirdly enough. As for the sun conure they were in one of the first exhibits in the room after the beeater one. They also had a Red Crested Turaco inside the Hornbill/Bali Myna/Lovebird habitat in the same room. All of these birds were unsigned cause I guess they're redoing all of the signs. All the new birds were just kinda placed in existing exhibits not really new ones. They did open the bird nursery again however since I went last time in october.

Current standings before the summer visits start to roll out. If your score doesn't look right to you, let me know and I'll investigate. Due to the sheer amount of data and the way I have it compiled, I won't post people's subscores here; if you want everything I have for you PM me and I will send it to you.

@Kudu21 is currently in the lead, and a mere 6 or 7 species away from finishing all 36 trials. We have 21 participants in total, slightly more than we had by this point last year.

Kudu21: 30
@nczoofan, @Coelacanth18: 26
@Nicholas LionRider: 24
@ThylacineAlive: 19
@Ituri, @jayjds2: 13
@red river hog, @iluvwhales, @Neil chace: 11
@TinoPup: 10

@Dhole dude: 2
@Cera: 1

Of the 36 challenges, only 2 have not been completed by anybody yet: Another Dang Meerkat and Coelacanth Stamp of Approval. The most finished challenge is One Zoo Wonder, which all but one participant has completed (most commonly with Sharknado - guess I should have set that one higher than 4).

Thanks for the update. Its interesting to see because this year I have been in full-time school and working almost full-time, so zoos have been my escape. I haven’t been able to leave Texas at all bar the Bronx Zoo because of this. I guess it goes to show you the species diversity of Texas zoos. Either way its been fun :) and taught me a lot about zoos I have yet to visit as well.

Its great to see everyone enjoying more zoos, especially after the lull that was covid though.

After a very busy couple of months, I am very happy to be back in the game!
