I believe they are housing green sea turtles, but I am not 100% on that.

I was just there 2 weeks ago! This might explain that one area that was blocked off about halfway through.

I know they have a Green Sea Turtle named Neptune in their ocean tunnel exhibit, but not sure what the species in the rehab center will be. Their site mentions an individual named Beasley, but doesn't specify their species.

Looks like Beasley was previously named "Canal" and is a green sea turtle that comes from the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue Center in Surf City NC:
Canal is a juvenile green turtle that stranded in 2015 suffering from boat strike injury. This injury which led to buoyancy issues and made him non-releasable. We are pleased to announce that Canal has a new "forever home" at Sea Life Charlotte-Concord. Join us in person and online to celebrate Canal and his new adventure
There was a comment on the Facebook post that clued me onto that trail.
