Curious if anyone knows of any zoos that have kept the brown and white Quinling panda? Or if they have been bred anywhere in captivity in China? This would be a neat one to see although people probably come to zoos expecting to see the familiar black and white one.

The Qinling Panda Centre in Xi'an, China should have a single Brown individual.
Note that not all Qinling Panda are brown, and The brown colorations is a recessive gene similar to albinism or melanism, if I recall correctly.

Antwerp Zoo kept a black-and-white Qinling pair in 1987, these animals were only a short-term loan from the Chinese government and were returned to China after a few months.

I wonder whether the ISB (studbook maintained by PR China) covers any information on origins of the giant panda source population in captivity.

Qizai was at Foping Panda Valley in 2019 (presumably he is still there). There were plans to pair him with a black and white female, but I don’t know if it was successful.
