I loved this enclosure at Montpellier zoo. Really looks like the bottom of a rainforest. Unfortunately this greenhouse no longer exists.

It does still exist, but there is uncertainty as to what will happen to the zoo, yes.

I feel as if it’s fairly easy to find a photo that appears to be taken in the wild if the animal takes up most of the photo, as there is little to no contextual information in the picture. What I’d find more interesting for what it’s worth is photos in which the animal is, relatively speaking, smaller.

What photos in the gallery fascinate you, because they could be taken in the wild?
To make it more difficult, the photo should:
- Show quite a lot of surroundings (so not just an animal portrait)
- Show animal not native to the zoo area
- Cannot show only water, only sky or other featureless surface.

Both of these I took from the Bronx Zoo, three years ago.

Both of these are clearly zoo photos, with the obviously-artificial waterfall in the Gharial photo and the concrete riverbank in the otter photo.

I have to say the hornbill photo is incredibly realistic. I was fooled for a second!

You can see a fence in the back too if you look closely.
