Man, I can't believe how much this zoo has changed (for the better) since my visit in 2011. I'm really considering going back someday, it's a long but worthy car ride.
Yes, indeed. The have formed close ties to Dvur Kralove Zoo in Czech Republic.Man, I can't believe how much this zoo has changed (for the better) since my visit in 2011. I'm really considering going back someday, it's a long but worthy car ride.
From reports on Facebook, it appears that male orangutan, Besar, is one of the animals who has died.
Vallee des Singes have stated they received two orang-utans from Bassin D'Arachon, which I assume could be the two females, but it could also be their second male orang-utan 'Jingga'.Do you know where the two females have been sent to? (I suppose they left as well since they tried to place Besar)
In a video posted on Vallée des Singes' Facebook page it was writen that the park received 9 animals from Arcachon including a bonobo !Vallee des Singes have stated they received two orang-utans from Bassin D'Arachon, which I assume could be the two females, but it could also be their second male orang-utan 'Jingga'.
Didn't Arcachon have a chimpanzee and bonobo hybrid? Maybe that was the mentioned animal? In a video posted on Vallée des Singes' Facebook page it was writen that the park received 9 animals from Arcachon including a bonobo !
After research I can confirm that Arcachon has a single bonobo since a few time and that this animal is not coming from european zoos. Don't know more unfortunately.
You're right they have one hybrid but I have confirmation this is not the same animal.Didn't Arcachon have a chimpanzee and bonobo hybrid? Maybe that was the mentioned animal?
