I could put up with Jimmy Fallon naming a Giraffe 'Noodle'. It's basic and overused, but kinda cute a suppose. Princess Lasagne Baby is just way too much. That's not the name you give a real animal, it's what a child names their stuffed toy.I hope that giraffe is transferred and I hope that giraffe is renamed. Allowing the tigers to be named after people who raised money for them etc. was one thing, but this is treating animals like a joke and detracts from any message of conservation the zoo are upholding.

Is it better or worse if I told you Hunter was from the same mother as Princess Lasagne Baby. Poor Penny man. Girl needs a calf with a normal name.Australia Zoo have definitely made plenty of their own blunders in the past with regards to their giraffes and other species.
Remember Hunter the giraffe? Perfectly sums up the giraffe that sneaks stealthily and unseen through the grass in pursuit of its prey.![]()
"Hunter" is also a people name, which makes it more bearable than she-who-shall-not-be-named. If it were a tiger or a cheetah or some other predator named "Hunter", people would just be crying "unoriginal"!Australia Zoo have definitely made plenty of their own blunders in the past with regards to their giraffes and other species.

The reason so many people are annoyed at Hunter - beyond just the fact it was given to an herbivore - is the fact the zoo ALREADY has an animal named Hunter, and a very high profile one at that. They have a Sumatran Tiger named Hunter that's notable because not only was he the first born at the zoo, he has two glass eyes. So reusing that name, especially for an animal like a Giraffe, just felt weird."Hunter" is also a people name, which makes it more bearable than she-who-shall-not-be-named. As for their other calf, "Talbert", I like his name a lot! Sounds like the name of an Animal Crossing villager that doesn't exist.
I don't know, maybe I'm only defending those other names because they failed so badly this time around. Is this our comeuppance for complaining about "species name in native language" names?

I agree on the Talbert though. I think that's adorable.
Apart from Hunter, and this newest abomination, their Giraffe names haven't been too bad. Boring and bland, (skye, tulip, scarlett, Jesse, Noodle, just off the top of my head) but nothing egregious. Until now.
I can think of 4 people: Paris Hilton, Terri Irwin, Bindi Irwin, and Robert Irwin. Everyone else (I hope) are smart enough to realize how stupid of a name that is.There will be those out there who are of the opinion that Princess Lasagne Baby is a decent name
