The africa reserve seemed very sparce today. No ostrich and the oryx were behind the hoofstock stables
The giraffes won't be on the large reserve for a while because one of them is lame. They were also split up today. The reticulated giraffes were together and the rothschild was alone.
Wow! I saw them yesterday indoors, I didn’t realise that it hadn’t been announcedJust been announced that the Giant Otters have produced triplets!! They are believed to "venture outside in a few weeks"
There used to be a mixed Binturong and otter enclosure at Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park. I think last time I visited however there were no longer any otters.

I have been to Colchester a few times and just cant remember this enclosure despite looking in the gallery and orienting myself with a map![]()
I can't believe I didn't think to mention Colchester. I have to say, it isn't very memorable, and I have only started to see animals in it recently, when it has been brought to relevance by two Short Clawed Otter litters. For reference, it used to hold Cheetahs, and is part of Wilds of Asia near the Red Pandas and Anteaters.Colchester still do I think
That’s awesome also how long until we’d find out about them ???I've heard on the grapevine that there is an Amur Leopard in quarantine. This could be one of two things. Drake or Freya might be unwell with an infection OR a breeding male or female has been brought into the park. I'm assuming logistically they can keep three cats separate as they have had cubs in the past.
I'll update as I learn more. It's about time YWP contributed to the EBPs.
