Does anyone have knowledge of the goral? Their website claims they have a single goral, a male called Mahjong but I have found recent sources on the internet about the facility only having one goral, Mo, a female. It would be good to know the name, gender, date of birth, facility where he or she was born, and the names of the parents, if anyone has this.

On May 7th, the zoo announced that a red-necked wallaby was born which is on exhibit.

On May 17th, the zoo announced that a cotton-top tamarin was born which is on exhibit.

On May 24th, the zoo announced that a (0.1) mongoose lemur was born which is on exhibit. The lemur was later named Isabella.

On May 28th, the zoo announced that a (1.0) red river hog named Edgar was born in April which is on exhibit.

On December 20th, it was reported that the zoo received a $2.3 million grant from the West Virginia Water Development Authority to be used towards renovations/upgrades for the facility's entrance lobby, gift shop, cafe, restrooms, and back courtyard (with a new gazebo). Renovations will start in early 2026.

On March 28th, the zoo announced they acquired a (0.1) Pallas's cat named Brie from the Dakota Zoo in North Dakota which is now on exhibit.

Per this article, the zoo is anticipating the opening of a new, state-of-the-art-complex for lions by 2026.

At the time of its publication, the zoo has already broke ground on the project, which notably includes a 20,000 sq ft. enclosure, and overnight accommodation not too dissimilar to other institutions worldwide (i.e, Jamala Wildlife Lodge in Australia).
