ZooChat Challenge Global 2022

We are entering the last quarter of the year and the updates start to be more and more interesting ! Full of great species :)
I've got tentative plans to mop up some collections before the end of the year that should push me up the list a bit further. Still think the flying squirrel was my best entry and it didn't even bloody count... :p

Looking forward to your new updates! I understand you now :) I saw 8 Flying Squirrels running around. It was almost surrealistic. And now even the Giant red Flying Squirrels are possible in Berlin.

I have removed number 89 - Fanaloka and replace with Large Hairy Armadillo Chaetophractus villosus which i saw in the corner exhibit of the reptile room mixed with hyrax etc at Exmoor.

I have then had a productive couple of days off heading across to Kent for the Big Cat Sanctuary open day and back...

Hemsley Conservation Centre 26.07.22
99) Brazilian Porcupine Coendou Prehensilis
100) Ground Cuscus Phalanger Gymnotis
101)
Pygmy Slow Loris Xanthonycticebus Pygmaeus
102) Short Beaked Echidna Tachyglossus Aculeatus
103)
Ocelot Leopardus Pardalis

*blanked on Aardwolf again, turning into a bit of a bogey animal for me following blanking at Hamerton (while they were still there and waiting until closing). I take some solace that i believe the individual now at Hemsley I have in all likelihood seen at the RSCC when it was operating.
**also blanked on Geoffroy's Cat scuppering my chances for a full sweep on cat species available in the UK somewhat...
***Echidna is back on show contrary to website.

Fenn Bell Inn 26.07.22
104) Coati Nasua Nasua
105) Bobcat Lynx Rufus

Wildwood Kent 26.07.22

Henkel’s Leaf Tailed Gecko Uroplatus Henkeli
130) Senegal Bushbaby Galago Senegalensis
131) Straw Coloured Fruit Bat Eidolon Helvum

*Tried for a very long time to pick out a Hammerhead Bat in the enclosure opposite Anaconda but couldn't conclusively pick out one which was frustrating, however hard to turn your nose up at 4 bat species and a chance of 5.

Getting much more difficult to add species as we enter the final throes of the challenge, but still plugging away.

Twycross Zoo 03.10.22
132) Snow Leopard Panthera Uncia

National SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham 07.10.22
133) Zebra Shark Stegostoma Tigrinum
134) Banded Houndshark Triakis Scyllium

I also visited Yorkshire Wildlife Park where I knew I stood to add no new species anyway.

Very frustratingly I also tried for Geoffroy's Cat at Woodside Wildlife but the weather and timing were against me and Geoff chose not to show in heavy rain in the middle of the day having already been fed and no indoor viewing.
And with that blank (and the previous one for Geoffroy's Cat at Hemsley) goes my chances of a clean sweep on available UK cats by one species potentially...
