After 140 years it 's finally been rediscovered!!!! :D

This is fantastic because it proves that species feared extinct, especially ground dwelling birds that live on islands that had to survive against cats, rats and human colonization still have a fighting chance against extinction! Hopefully other birds recently extinct/not seen for decades or more can have the same outcome!
 
There are so many species thought likely extinct, or undiscovered by the western world, that we would know about if we took the time to listen and get to know people in these villages in east Asia, South America, etc. Respect them, include them, credit them.

I've noticed that in multiple cases of rediscovery/discovery of animals, locals seem to be well aware of their existence.
