Births and other news:
- Second Chapman's zebra (Equus quagga chapmani) foal of the year was born at the park!
- After counting, seemingly seven European brown bear (Ursus arctos arctos) cubs can be seen this year. More than last year, taking under account five were properly raised.
- The Spotted hyena (Crocuta crocuta) population at the park is down to a single individual... More than what I expected (I thought they were fully gone) but still not a good number. I hope they get moved to a better area and get more individuals to form a properly sized group or phased out, but the future doesn't seem very bright for this species...
-The gorillas have all passed COVID and are now healthy again. Keepers also have tested negative on the tests.

Duni is leaving:
Duni, the first-ever female Western lowland gorilla (Gorilla gorilla gorilla) born at the zoo, is leaving to the Praha zoo.
She was born in 2013, being the offspring of Nicky and Moja. Her arrival is apparently very anticipated over at Praha, where she will take the role of a breeding female. The population of gorillas at the park once Duni leaves will consist of six individuals.

Recent Births and News:
- The years first Bactrian camel (Camelus bactrianus) calf was born!
- Third Guinea baboon (Papio papio) of the year has been born at the park!
- Another Watusi (Bos primigenius taurus) calf was born. Fifth individual of the year.
- Three new Addaxes (Addax nasomaculatus) have arrived at the park! They have joined the existing individuals who lived with dromedaries in front of the Grevy's zebras.
- Three new female Lions (Panthera leo) have arrived to the park. They are currently on adaptation and will soon join the park's male Max and two older lionesses.
- A new DeBrazza's monkey (Cercopithecus neglectus) has arrived at the park! It is now living alongside the gorillas and two more guenons of the same species.
- The Monchino horses (Equus ferus caballus) and Monchino cattle (Bos primigenius taurus) are back in their enclosure. The exhibit only houses two horses and three cows, so the future of these breeds at the park is still uncertain.
- They are building something where the environmental classroom is, as well as one of the pens in the farm area has been closed off, I feel like it's the one where guinea pigs used to be housed.
 
New developments:
Cabárceno will for now on have a 360º cinema for the enjoyment of it's guests. It's located in the old environmental classroom, next to the farm zone. It will be opened on the 1st of October until the 18th of December.
The new attraction will consist of a massive cylindrical LED screen 35 meters long and 3 meters high. Over the next few months, videos related to Cantabria, the Camino Lebaniego, and Cabárceno Park itself will be screened, as well as a video in which some of the most representative animals in the installation talk about Cabárceno in the first person.
Finally, a video has been prepared mainly aimed at schoolchildren, although interesting for the general public, in which the vision of some of the animals that inhabit the Park (elephants, giraffes, deer, bears, snakes, etc.) is explained.

Birth news:
- Indian gaur (Bos gaurus gaurus) calf born at the park! First gaur birth since 2019, in fact, the father of this new calf has to be one of the two calves born said year.
- The year's first Ellipsen waterbuck (Kobus ellipsiprymnus ellipsiprymnus) calf born at the park!

Other than that, fellow zoosdelmundo user @Diegooo has recently taken the special nocturnal visits the park offers this season so visitors can enjoy the rut offered by the cervids of the park, as well as have a closer look at how some exhibits look in the dark of the night (bears, wolves, hyenas and bison to be precise). The thing about these visits is that you go through the exhibits with a guide, and Diego took a moment to ask some interesting questions.
In between some interesting information, the guide said that the reptile house would be getting a face wash. These are important news in my opinion, many of the terrariums are incredibly outdated and shouldn't be housing animals at this time and day.
Another very important concept that Diego mentioned was the future the sea lion enclosure might have soon or later. For what it seems, the current idea being managed by the park is that once the sea lions the park currently houses pass away, a brand new enclosure for Nile crocodiles will be placed in said spot, taking under account how close the reptile house is compared to the sea lion exhibit. Other than that, they apparently want to build a new stable for the cape buffaloes and mix them with the dromedaries and addax in their 4-acre enclosure.

Wow! Evening tours are something I wish many zoos organized! Many animals, especially carnivores, become active and really interesting!
 
New developments:
Cabárceno opens today this educational space to promote the conservation of the brown bear.
Cabárceno incorporates the new "La casa del Oso" to its offer, an educational space complementary to the one already existing in the Park that was born with the aim of transmitting values of conservation of the species in nature and that has had the collaboration of the Brown Bear Foundation.
The initiative was inaugurated today by the Minister of Industry, Tourism, Innovation, Transport and Commerce, Javier López Marcano, who was accompanied by the president of the Foundation, Guillermo Palomero, where they pointed out that this area seeks transmission and education in the importance of the conservation and preservation of the natural environment and endangered species.
This new space is added to the already inaugurated room 360, thus increasing the offer of the Nature Park and which acquires a “high educational value”, as well as a “beautiful conjunction between the environmental classroom and the nature classroom”, explained the Minister of Tourism.

- A new Common hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibius) was born at the park earlier on December. With this and the other calf born back in January of last year, the park's herd is up to 7 individuals!
- An Addax (Addax nasomaculatus) has been born! Sadly, with the birth of this individual, the park's oldest male is no longer at the park, and two of the three addaxes brought into the park earlier last summer have also left the park. The addax population at the park is now back at 4 individuals, this species seems to be on the way out of the park.
- The year's first Common eland (Taurotragus oryx) calf has been born!
- A new stable is being built for either the buffaloes, addaxes and/or dromedaries or all three of them together. The park announced a new stable would be built when the buffaloes first arrived, but the addax and dromedary stables are not in the best state and I think that would be a move that makes sense.

- The park's 23th African bush elephant (Loxodonta africana) was born the 18th of January of this year!
She has been named Beatuca and her parents are Jambo and Infinita. She is the 12th second-generation elephant to be born at the park. Her first days have been very favorable thanks to Infinita's experience raising calfs, Beatuca being her third offspring.

The breeding of African Elephants seems to be very successful in this park !
 
Yes! Amazing news! Cabárceno has never been too lucky with rhino births, and since Mayayi left last year the paddock was feeling in need of another individual. Hope we get some calfs soon or later!
 
Birth news:
- Another African bush elephant (Loxodonta africana) calf was born at Cabárceno yesterday! It has not been named yet and I do not know who it's parents are (Not sure which is the elephant in the picture, Hilda or Africa maybe?), this is the 24th elephant calf to be born at Cabárceno.
- Two Kafue flats lechwe (Kobus leche kafuensis) calves have been born.
- Two Watusi (Bos primigenius taurus) calves have been born.
- Two Bennett's wallabies (Macropus rufogriseus) have been born.
