Saint Louis Zoo Saint Louis Zoo News 2022

I went today and only saw rhinoceros hornbills in the Bird House. The Bird Garden didn't have any hornbills. They may just be temporarily off exhibit though because their were several vacant habitats.
Sadly, the great hornbill is no longer at the zoo. I believe it passed away.

Wonderful! If memory serves correct, zoo staff called the last Joey "Polly Pocket." Glad to see that their kangaroos are regularly breeding because that one was born about this time last year as well.

I visited today and noticed a few things
-The Chinese alligator enclosure was vacant and the signage was taken out.
-Maxim, the male Amur tiger, is now out on exhibit and rotates with Reka, his female counterpart.
-The Bird Garden trail was closed. All other bird exhibits appeared to be open and operating normally (although I did not check Penguin and Puffin Coast). I am not sure whether this is a brief thing or relatively long term.)

I wonder if the Chinese Alligator is a seasonal thing. I haven’t really taken much of a look at the reptiles the past few visits.
