Kakadu
the Kakadu area is split into two different parts: Floodplain & Monsoon Forest. It is based off of the Top End region of northern NT.
Floodplain
First is a wetland walkthrough-aviary viewed from an elevated boardwalk over the water, the water's surface is covered in water-lillies & paperbark & pandanus are planted along the shoreline. The species include: Radjah Shelduck, geese (Green Pygmy- & Magpie), Comb-Crested Jacana, whistling-ducks (Plumed & Wandering), Black Bittern, Brolga, Black-Necked Stork, herons (Pied & Nankeen Night-), Royal Spoonbill, Australasian Darter, Glossy Ibis & Purple Swamphen. After this are several outdoor enclosures, an aviary for White-Bellied Sea-Eagle, an exhibit with Saltwater Crocodile, an open enclosure for Asian Water-Buffalo & a pair of exhibits with largest having a mix of turtles (Saw-Shelled & Eastern Long-Necked) & Freshwater Crocodile & the smaller has Merten's Water-Monitor & Northern Water-Dragon. Inside the nocturnal house are four similar tanks for snakes ranging in size for Arafura File-Snake, Keelback, Water Python & Macleay's Water-Snake, then is a tank with Pig-Nosed Turtle & Speckled Longfin-Eel & finally is an enormous freshwater tank for a mix of Freshwater Sawfish, Barramundi, Freshwater Whipray & Gulf Saratoga.
Monsoon Forest
The nocturnal house continues into this section of the Kakadu area with a tank for Magnificent Tree-Frog, an exhibit with Black-Footed Tree-Rat & Black Flying-Fox, then are two invertebrate tanks, a bigger one for Green Tree-Ant & the smaller semi-aquatic one has Giant Water-Spider. Outside the nocturnal house is an aviary for Rufous Owl & then is a walkthrough-aviary based on the monsoon forest habitat of Northern Australia, which has Red-Winged Parrot, Rainbow Pitta, Pheasant Coucal, Rufous Whistler, finches (Crimson & Masked), Yellow-Rumped Mannikin, Shining Flycatcher, Red-Necked Avocet, Purple-Crowned Fairywren, Eastern Koel, Orange-Footed Scrubfowl, Bar-Breasted Honeyeater, Yellow Oriole, Banded Fruit-Dove, White-Browed Crake & Little Kingfisher.
