TONKA and JASPER were grandsons of TANYA. JAPSER, TONKA and TANYA came to Wuppertal as surplus animals.
 
Tierpark Cottbus is going to renovate its predator building, the following link shows a schematic drawing of the layout. According to the schematic the building will house giant otters (Pteronura brasiliensis), fishing cats (Prionailurus viverrinus),North chinese leopards (Panthera pardus japonensis) and some species of mongoose. The giant otters and fishing cats will be new species for the Tierpark. Furthermore the Black-capped capuchins (Sapajus apella) have moved to a different part of the zoo due to construction, the South American coatis (Nasua nasua) will also be found in the predator building but are housed somewhere else in the meantime.

In October a triplet of Yellow-spotted rock hyraxes (Heterohyrax brucei) was born.

On the 18th of October a femaleJavan banteng (Bos javanicus javanicus) was born. This year 3 bantengs were born.

The tierpark is also constructing a new inside enclosure for their Asian elephants, which is expected to be finished at the start of next year. See this link for photos.

Atleast 1 European bison (Bison bonasus) was born this year.

According to ZTL the newborn Baird's tapir is a female and was given the name BAMIKA.

A few weeks ago 2 Asian small-clawed otters (Aonyx cinerea) arrived at the zoo.

Next Tuesday 1,5-year old North chinese leopards (Panthera pardus japonensis) Barkus and Balu (12/31/2020) will move to Wingsterwald Zoo, this weekend is your last chance to see them in Cottbus. They will leave the zoo because the predator house will be renovated.

At the start of this month multiple Barbary striped grass mouse (Lemniscomys barbarus) were born.
