The Saving Wildcats conservation partnership project is celebrating a successful first breeding season, welcoming a total of 22 wildcat kittens who could be among the first of their species to be released into the wild in Britain.

Led by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS), Saving Wildcats is working with national and international experts to restore Scotland’s critically endangered wildcat population by breeding and releasing them into carefully selected locations in the Cairngorms National Park:

Will be visiting in mid December more than likely via public transport. Is there any way to view the drive through exhibits as a visitor without a vehicle?

I'm sure the drive through reserve tours were operating during my visits earlier this year, but to be safe I would recommend emailing them at wildlife@rzss.org.uk
Is there a bus around the park though, like at Blair Drummond for example? The drive through has been open since at least March, but I don't know if they have a bus or something for those without a vehicle.

That's not far short of the equivalent of 100 human years. I know some horses have been reported as aged into their 50s and even 60s.

Perhaps science should be studying how horses can live to such a great age?

Commiserations to those at the zoo and kudos for helping keep her going to such a grand age.

For clarity, the drive through reserve is always open (except in adverse weather), I was referring to the drive through reserve tours, whereby a member of staff will take visitors on a guided tour through the drive through reserve in an RZSS vehicle.

Are these free? I can't see it on the website and hadn't noticed the vehicle on my visits.
