Helsinki Zoo Korkeasaari Zoo, Helsinki

I visited today and the 3 tiger cubs are adorable They are already exploring around and looking curious at visitors. The 4 lioness accross the street seemed to be quite interested in the cubs too, since they were together in that corner paying a lot of attention.

Other than that, the goats are back in their old habitat for the winter, and the summer goat garden has been turned again into a second vicuna enclosure.

I haven't seen the Pallas's cat yet. It must be friend with the margay... The otters are also very hard to see and haven't shown up during any of my last visits.

And there's no longer a male Pere David's deer in the herd, only 6 females. I don't know what happened to him.

We probably have accidently seen each other now since I also visited today! I spent around half an hour looking at the tigers cubs and i must say they're the most adorable things I've ever seen. (I also agree with you on the margay, I'm 75% sure that thing doesn't exist :D)

There was also some construction going on near the Amur leopard and Bearded vulture plus at the observation tower.

Oh, what a coincidence! Today with the wind and bad weather the park was almost empty, so yes, we must have seen each other haha.

According to the zoos website a female Round-eared elephant shrew has arrived from Germany and now lives in the Pancake tortoise enclosure in the Africasia house.

I saw it today, cute addition (but didn't see the pancake tortoise, it's always hiding). There are also two new leopard tortoises living with the lemurs.

On the other hand the margay is no longer on display. The enclosure now houses the aguti. Maybe they finally recognised there was no margay

It's gone from the website too. I never got the chance to see it, maybe it was never there to begin with :(.

The Margay is still in Korkeasaari but in an off-exhibit enclosure, she will soon move to a new home in a different zoo. The EEP/ISB coordinator has suggested that could could be in Netherlands or in Mesoamerica.
It’s nice to hear that at least it’s still alive and well. Maybe at some point in the future when the agoutis move out we’ll get something new in the enclosure.

Forgot mention that the Chantaburi warted tree frog has left the collection.
So turns out I was wrong about this. Apparently the frogs just moved from their old terrarium to the former caecilian tank at the start of the tunnel between Amazonia and Africasia houses.
