Did I get a season pass just because of the baby Binturong? Why yes. Yes I did!
We went about 3 weeks ago, and even though the baby as very active at one point, we didn't manage to get any pictures or decent view, due to other people watching, and the bad reflection through the glass.
I then went back myself last week, and decided to upgrade my ticket into a season pass.
As it's a very smooth (but very long) bus journey to get there, it will be no problem at all to get my money's worth.
So, went yesterday, and the baby was super active at one point outside, it was so cute to see.
The oldest Red Panda has now been moved into the other enclosure, together with the other 2, as they are doing some works to the big enclosure.
Only animal I couldn't spot out of all of them, was the Black Lemurs.
One person, I kept "running into" everywhere, and every time they were moaning about how the animals should be free. Why did you came?
On my way out, I want to have a last look at the Arctic Fox, Wolverine and Snow Leopards.
At the fox, 2 people were acting quite suspicious when I joined them. I noticed the fox starting to eat things on the ground, didn't think much of it really, but then noticed some bags those 2 people had with them, and the fox kept looking up to one of them the entire time. So I put 2 and 2 together.
I stayed quite some time, and they kept looking at me, clearly wanting me to leave.
I saw the Tiger through the fox's enclosure being up on a platform, so I did decide to leave, as couldn't stay there forever anyways, and as soon as I left, I was behind them, they didn't notice this, and they threw food down (which could only be "again").
Only so they could take lots of pictures of the fox looking up at them, and trying to make selfies like that the entire time.
I went to look for a keeper, had to go all the way to Lemur woods to find someone, and told them about it.
I then made my way back to the exit, once again, and overal at least another 10-15 minutes had passed, those 2 people still standing with the fox, me seeing them throwing food down.
I'm not the most confident person at times (sometimes I am very much, it depends), so I didn't want to get abuse in any kind of form if I were to say something.
So on my way out, I see 2 keepers, tell them aswell, the guy rolls his eyes and goes "for .... sake!!!" he went into the shop and within 5 minutes they had announced twice through the PA system to not feed the animals.

Dudley Zoo have announced the arrival of two Sumatran laughingthrushes. A 17-year old male and a 2-year old female came from Bristol Zoo last month and have settled into one of the renovated aviaries by the Cassowary enclosure.

These were very active and vocal on Saturday (they're in the very furthest aviary on the little dead-end aviary path.
Were there any changes to the largest aviary on the far right of that row of aviaries?
Also, how are the improvements to the giraffe exhibit looking?
Didn't look like it - seemed to still be the original as I recall.
I only saw the giraffe build from the top of the slope but it looks a long way off as yet.
As always with Dudley though, lots of nice little improvements keeping things ticking over.
I was there the day before and they were both very interactive coming to the bars and calling at me. I tried to get a video but as soon as I got my phone out they wouldn't make a noise!
I'm not 100% as house was shut off as was ramp down to it, but there did seem to be people working inside the house, the new area has some fencing but not surrounded and ground still looks rough. As I'm sure you know the orangutan enclosure went from rough ground to open weirdly quickly so it might not be that long.
I doubt this will happen but I wish they'd open up the new viewing area so we can watch the build.
Was at Dudley today, was a great visit no know shows as I tend to find when I visit in the of season, mabey because there are less people the animals are less intimidated to come out and show them selves more, the weather wasn’t bad either only a sprinkling of rain. One of the keepers helped also when he kicked of his petrol leaf blower around the area of the tigers both the tigers, snow leopards, fox and wolverine got very excited running around there enclosures trying to get a look at what the noise was, a joy to watch. The place is looking really smart with new builds going on for fresh exhibits and mateinance works made the place really look like it was going forward, shame my local Twycross can’t follow suit rather than there current trend of going out of species also there was a large film crew there today, probably fifteen trucks or so in the car park. After asking the car park guy what it was all about apparently they are filming there tommorow for an itv documentry on Lenny Henry whom apparently worked at the zoo in his youth, when I asked if he was stopping at the premier inn opposite the zoo a got a laugh out of him
This guy started his blowing in the attic fox enclosure so I guess it didn’t stand a chance of forty winks, put a pic up of the film crew trucks in the gallery

Some good news for Fox fans as Tommy - the remaining male Arctic fox - has now been paired up with a female fox who has been named Grace - to stick with the Peaky Blinders theme. She arrived from Opel Zoo in Germany.

I went today, and the female Arctic Fox seems do be doing good in the enclosure.
The male seems to want to be alone, every time she came towards him, he ran off, hehe.
It was very quiet today. Good few peoples around though.
But after 2,5 hours none of the animals had moved spots, lol, so I called it a day.

Did you see if the zoo has finished what they were doing to the Parma wallaby enclosure (between the binturongs and the Barbary sheep)?

Was up at Dudley today for a bit of arctic fox action.
Chilly and damp - not too many visitors though a couple of parties of beavers (of the small child type) made up for the noise a few times but they were obviously having a great day out too so can’t knock it. Chairlift was signed as closed for the winter but the train was running.
Lovely day all round.
Lots of animal activity (with the exception of the orangs and chimps who were understandably indoors) across the board and managed to see most of the animals out and about which was great. The new fox was fun to see and as mentioned earlier she certainly seems keener on Tommy than he seems on her! All the interactions seemed laid back enough (for foxes anyway). The lions, tigers and lynx were also up and around which was fun. One of the snow leopards was being weighed and having a bit of training so that was enjoyable to watch.
Snapped a couple of phone pics of the aviaries near the sloths (the large end one is still the old structure and occupied but the other ones under refurbishment albeit empty look to be near completion) and the work in progress in the wallaby area.

Hi! On my visit today I noticed the marmosets have been moved to one enclosure, and the titi monkeys into where the younger marmosets were (they were previously in with the sloths)
It was very cold so most animals in their enclosures.
Found out poor Benji was ill a couple of weeks ago so they are waiting for a clean stool sample before they can let the orangs out into their new enclosure. It’s been weeks since I’ve seen them out!
Would love some more info on Benji if anyone has it. I know he’s a solitary male and doesn’t really get on with others. I heard he was paired with Jazz years back. Wondered if anyone knew how it went! I assume him being hand reared has something to do with his behaviour.
