Bristol Zoo Project Wild Place News 2022

Wild Place is ALREADY open. There is NO countdown, except in your own head.
I know, I’ve been plenty of times in recent years, just not since the zoo closed. The ‘opening’ refers to the re-branding. I’m not stupid; private message me and I’ll talk it through with you. I’m not counting down and there is nothing fantastical in ‘my own head’ (more than a little patronising in tone!); rather a polite reference to the timeline published by Bristol Zoo. If I’ve got it wrong, I’ll apologise for offending you?

This is the last I’ll say of it but please can everyone just be nicer especially on this thread, I know I blow everything out of proportion and I’m trying not to but your words are sometimes so hurtful and just because I may not be as knowledgeable as you in regards to zoos doesn’t excuse anything

That is fair Charles, but you also have to look at what you sometimes post.
This website and forum is a good place at times but there is a reason many zoos get upset about it, and that is because of wide speculation on things, comments that are untrue and this can have reflection on the zoo in question.

People are happy to post what they know, but it doesn’t help when then people start saying this could happen and that could happen. You don’t have to be a member to read the comments and threads on this website and people can see stuff and then think it’s true or that’s happening. They then tell people or say at the zoo and a zoo may ask where they have heard this and as ever the two words Zoo Chat come up.
When this happens it also creates problems for others. If you’re knowledgeable about zoos and animals or have connections, you may get told stuff, but if you are told something in confidence and then post it you lose all that, and also if people know you’re on zoo chat, suddenly they may not tell you stuff or be so engaging because of some of the nonsense written, so whilst you may feel you get excited or blow things out of proportion and maybe you want things to happen with the best will in the world, it can have a negative effect as well, which is why posts like that get shot down and you may feel attacked.
This thread is entitled Wild Place News, when you post speculation or wishful thinking on a news thread it may lead to some taking it as news and not as speculation or wishful thinking. So please understand no one is saying don’t write what you would love to see at Bristol / Wild Place and what you hope may happen, we are all passionate about zoos and animals, but keep it to a speculative thread and not a news thread.

I apologise if my comment to you was hurtful, but numerous times it has been said the timeline for the developments , then each time you seem to think oh they can build this in a few months, why isn’t it happening, when you have already been
told why.

Follow the news, follow council planning sites and follow Wild Place website, as soon as planning is approved and Bristol is sold, I’m sure they will press release and that is when you may start to see construction work at Wild Place.
