ZooChat Challenge Global 2022

While @pipaluk is technically correct that it is against the spirit of the game to dump your numbers on the last day of the year, given that @TeaLovingDave had already been participating throughout most of the year and especially given his new total does not impact the winner of this game, I will allow it.

The rule is really to stop someone from not posting any updates all year and then jump in with a win a month before the challenge finishes. Someone getting delayed in updating their list due to health and higher priorities does not bother me as much. If TLD's entries today had led to him stealing the win, I would have not allowed their entry in fairness to everyone who has kept up this whole time, but seeing as that is not the case and this is all just for fun anyhow, I think it's okay.

I regret not being able to tally up my final total before the year is out!

In other news, expect a final post by @ZooBinh either tonight or tomorrow with official end totals. Thanks everyone for an awesome year and another successful entry in this games history! I hope to see everyone back again for ZooChat Challenge Global 2023 - 10th Anniversary Special!

Hey ZooChat! As @ThylacineAlive noted above, my post detailing results of the challenge will be out tomorrow. My sincerest apologies for not being able to wrap up today on the 31st, I’m sure it’s disappointing to you, it is to me as well (I won’t have the time in the next few hours to update my final tally :(). But nevertheless, I’m mostly caught up on the updates up until this past week, and excited to wrap up what has been a fun challenge that I hope you all have enjoyed :). Happy New Year to those in Europe and beyond, and for those stuck here in the past…I’ll save my wishes for tomorrow :P.
 
It is hard to count the exact number of species on display in Europe, but my rough estimation is around 390.
I have seen Mouse-like hamster and Kangaroo rat bts, but they are on display at Dusseldorf and Burgers.
Colugus and probably Tarsier are possible at Singapore.
I am very curious, if there are any Linsangs in a public collection in Asia ?

I apologize for my late posts, it was messy year for me (sickness, illness of my birdie at home, some of my zoo trips were part of my job-related trips and so on) and I struggled with keeping tracking my ticks.

I am sorry. I see it's very unfair.

If you consider that my posts shoudn't count and be part of the ranking order, I won't object. It was simply fun for me and I like these challenge because these challenges lead my steps to places that would otherwise never be my priority. That's why I love these challenges.

Most people do just see them as fun things to do for the year. It's not like there's prize money for the ultimate winner and the cat-o-nine-tails for everybody else.

Thank you for the kind words @ZooBinh ! Most of the animals in this year's challenge were really exciting species and I was happy to participate. It is great that so many like-minded people played. I am also thankful that I learned new holders of some rare and elusive species. This thread will be very valuable future reference :)
 
After a pretty terrible year in my personal life I'm amazed I managed a top 10 place. Gotta be said though, thoroughly enjoyed taking part in this challenge (it included some of my favourite orders so I was definitely going to take part anyway!) and I bow down to our worthy winner, @twilighter, I think you need a year off this year though mate... ;) :D

Thanks for organising it @ZooBinh but damn, flying squirrels should definitely have counted! :mad::eek::p:D

Thank you, mate and good work :) I will honestly try to restrict myself. But than again, I remember how I started participating in the Global Challenge :rolleyes: I was quietly collecting Ungulates around Europe, when you started teasing me. How can I just watch, if you are in :p

Well the 2023 Challenge is giving me a bit of a headache just looking at it, but I'm damn sure I'll be joining in again. I look forward to you beating me thoroughly again... :rolleyes::D

And maybe, just maybe, our paths will finally cross this year! ;):D
