I went to Zoo Tampa for the first time earlier this month for an avicultural conference. While I was there, I was also treated to go on a behind-the-scenes tour. Because of the mismanagement between the conference holders and the zoo staff, I wasn't able to do the behind-the-scenes tour (I was in the first group) but several newfound acquaintances did and they reported to me what they saw.

I decided that, while I was there and given how reasonably sized the zoo is, I would do a complete species roster, and include three species that were behind-the-scenes. There are a few species I didn't get to see because they were only viewable through the Safari Tour so I referenced Zoo Tours video (they also went in 2022) on what he saw on there (I'll list those species with an [XX]). I'll give a checkmark ([✓]) to the species I did see and a single x and bold ([X]) the species I did not see. There were some birds held off exhibit that I was still able to see behind an exhibit that I will notate separately.

I'll go in order by how I traveled to zoo.

Wow, Tampa keeps a lot of hornbill species and I'm glad they hold a coral snake. @SwampDonkey said on a different thread that there are also Patas Monkeys, are they no longer there?

Oh! The presenter on the YouTube channel Zoo Tours did mention that they still have them (and he visited Zoo Tampa this year), along with yellow-backed duikers (Cephalophus silvicultor) and eastern bongos (Tragelaphus eurycerus isaaci). I didn't do the safari tour on both trips :(
 
Yep, they still have them as well as the other species mentioned. Sometimes the Marabou storks are back there too.
 
1. Based on my recent visit, here are the animals that are exclusive to the Africa Safari Ride (not covered in OP)
  • Patas Monkey (Erythrocebus patas)
  • Bongo (Tragelaphus eurycerus)
  • Yellow-backed Duiker (Cephalophus silvicultor)
  • Gray Crowned Crane (Balearica regulorum)
Marabou Stork, Shoebill, Okapi, Bay Duiker, White Rhinoceros, African Wild Dog, African Elephant, Masai Giraffe, etc can be seen on both ride and walkthrough.

3. Wattled Crane is still present and in front of safari ride exit, accross from the Blue Duiker/aviary enclosure.

4. There is signs for an Impala by the elephant enclosure but did not see any. I might have seen it bts when on the safari ride, but it was just a very brief look and couldn't confirm ID.

5. Fijian Banded Iguana has moved to Australia (I didn't see it, but the sign is there now).

Tampa is probably one of the largest without chimps or gorillas as well. That said, both gorilla and lions are on the plans.
 
Sorry was reading this discussion. Also doing some research and was confused on whether or not Lowry still has a Martial Eagle. At one time, they most definitely did. It was my understanding they were the only ones in the US that had one in captivity. However recent listings of animals seems to show that they no longer have it. Does anyone know conclusively whether or not they still have it?

They may still have one, but if they do it's off-exhibit. According to some other members it was/is only ever brought out during the bird show. I certainly didn't see one during my 2021 visit.

If it was on a show, chances are it is from Natural Encounters Incorporated which does breed, train, and give birds to AZA zoos. I do not know if the animals NEI give ever return back to NEI but I could see the martial eagle coming back once the shows are over.
