On another note, the sanctuary was also supposed to receive 1.0 African Elephant Tonka from the Knoxville Zoo back in the spring, but he sadly died on May 8th only days before he was supposed move to the sanctuary.

TES is significantly expanding the female African barn and making it "bull-proof." Maybe they're going to take the Roger Williams cows? Or another bull?

i doubt another bull at this point. But reading the press release from Roger Williams, they did not use the word another zoo, they said another herd so that makes me think they are considering TES. Not many places can take in aging, non reproductive cows.

I am glad Punch has joined Sissy. I wonder how they are getting along as they are the only Asians in the group of Africans.

Makes sense!!!

It really does seem like they've shifted their focus to African elephants. Not as many older female Asians in need of relocation these days? I wonder if Punch would have been placed with the other Asian group had she not arrived with Mikki.

there are a handful of facilities with older Asian cows. Bronx Zoo, Buttonwood Zoo, National Zoo’s cow herd is more than half older. That is from the top of my head. Seemingly no plans to move them soon though.

It would be great if Tarra moves back to TES. Carol is going to die at some point and there is no apparent back up plan to care for the three elephants at her “sanctuary”.
