The Wilds The Wilds - Park News

In regards to the Central Chinese gorals at the park, how many are there. Also, what are their names, locations of birth, parents' names, and approximate dates of birth. Any information on births at The Wilds in the past would be greatly appreciated.

The goral are only in short term holding at the zoo until their home zoo’s habitat is repaired. I doubt they’ve bred this year. I’m not sure which zoo they’re holding them for. Guide thought it might’ve been Los Angeles but I’ve also heard Akron or another Ohio zoo.

They had a male named ‘Bear’ and a female named ‘Wooley’ as of a few years ago. Not sure if either are still there though.

Where did you hear Akron might be getting gorals?

Honestly I might be misremembering. It was either LA or someone in Ohio. I thought Akron had them but might be getting them confused with the Tahr they used to have.

I saw this in a Facebook post from 2019.

One of the gorals born here, Mia from 2014, was at Oglebay Good Zoo, but moved back to The Wilds in 2021. I would guess that she is still at The Wilds, but I can't be sure. I am waiting on a message back from The Wilds, but I could end up never receiving one.

Also, female Juno, that was born at The Wilds in June of 2016 and is currently in St. Louis has parents that are unknown to me, so I am trying to figure that out. Would anyone happen to have information about this?

In regards to births at The Wilds, does anyone have anything on animals that were born at the zoo in the past 15 years?
