Kobe Animal Kingdom Kobe animal kingdom

With the closing of Seaside Park Animal Friendship Village, Kobe Animal Kingdom took in sika deer from Seaside Park Animal Friendship Village.
It is possible that the Kingdom may have taken Southern ground-hornbill from Seaside Park Animal Friendship Village, but this is not confirmed information.

I do remember there being a talk about native species being brought to Kobe Animal Kingdom when the plans for the squirrels were shared in the fan page.

I do hope that they are able to use the hornbill for shows (if the hornbill is to arrive). I remember Nasu Animal Kingdom having them in their bird shows in the past.

Also, weren't the animal friendship village and Kobe Animal Kingdom both managed both managed by the Animal Escort Services?

There is a facility operated by Animal Escort Service that is similar to Ako Seaside Park Animal Friendship Village, but Ako Seaside Park Animal Friendship Village is different.
Here is a link to a website that lists the animals that were kept there before the park closed.

After researching, it seems that the animal escort service has taken in all the animals.
It seems likely that hornbills will be added to either Kobe or Nasu.

Kobe Animal Kingdom said in an interview that it plans to introduce a female Malayan tapir to breed.
The Kingdom is aiming to breed two types of Baku.
And it seems that the Axis deer will be a withdrawn species, as it is their policy not to breed in the future.

I thought their current Malayan tapir Yotsuba was already a female.

Construction has been going on with a sign announcing the arrival of more nocturnal animals featuring Japanese flying squirrels. The two mystery animals are likely to be bamboo rat and a type of owls as brought up by the crowdfunding made almost two years ago

The squirrel exhibit if finally officially announced and is said to be opened at March 17.

I checked the map pdf on the website and it seems like the the squirrel enclosure has taken up some of the recreational space across the kngaroos and between the spotted seals and the outdoor restaurant. The new nocturnal animals area willl be built on where the former contact parrot area and the gift shop by the northern entrance used to be.

The park announced another redesign of the map and along with it, the news that the malayan tapir will be placed outdoors right by the short-clawed otters.

First news is that as of April 5 the park has reached 6 million visitors.

The kingdom has finally announced the nocturnal animal exhibit and it’s opening date. The Japanese name translates to “Night of the Flying Squirrel~the World of Nocturnal Animals” albeit the English name the park chose is “Wild Night Animals”. The exhibit will be open to the public at April 21. The exhibit will include the previously mentioned flying squirrel and brown wood owl as previously mentioned by the crowdfunding however there is no mention of the bamboo rat. Not only the exhibit also will have nocturnal animals the park already has (striped possum, cloud rat, armadillo, Egyptian flying fox, and the owl), animals not mentioned in the crowdfunding will also be on display being the pygmy slow loris, Senegal bushbaby, and sugar glider. There is an image of the hallway of the exhibit in the announcement of the exhibit. A big concern I have is the use of blue light since I was told that they don’t really work well on the sleep cycle of animals.

Three Pallas cats were born in April 2 but two were stillborn. Unfortunately the third kitten wasn’t able to make it and passed in the 11th of April.

More footage of the Nocturnal Area. The kingdom seems to have switched into red lights. The hallway seems small but the enclosures seem to be decently sized for all animals maybe except for the brown wood owl.

The exhibit opened two days ago and I was able to find a walkthrough of the newly opened nocturnal area. The exhibit is a one way U-turn. There is a details that caught my attention.

By the end of the exhibit, there is a barn owl in a box right under the ceiling. This species was not announced when the new exhibit was announced.

Here is a news showcase showing the hall. Since the last video got privated I cannot promise that this video will stay up fpr long either.

And this one is a bit late but here is a news footage of the squirrel walkthrough that was opened last month.

A female puma named Niko has arrived from Gunma Safari Park.

Pygmy marmosets will be on display starting from July 14.

The black-necked stilts, ruddy shelducks, cape hyrax, and tawny frogmouth have had offspring.

Yotsuba the Malayan tapir has been taken off display due to medical reasons not mentioned on the website.
