Five Sisters Zoo Park Five Sisters Zoo

A bit of a random question maybe, but does anyone know where the zoo's male clouded leopard, Peckham, was before he came to FSZ? Thanks in advance :)

I'm planning my first ever visit to Five Sisters in either June or August of this year, but I noticed on their Facebook that construction has started on a new enclosure for penguins, so I'm undecided on whether or not to push my visit back until after the penguins have arrived. Going by the map on the zoo's website, it looks like the penguin enclosure is outside the Lost Kingdom and Castle Zoo buildings, where the meerkats once were, for those who visit regularly, are the meerkats off-show, or have they been moved to another enclosure?

I think their new enclosure is next to it, in the former porcupine/mongoose enclosure.

Thank you, I haven't made a solid decision yet, but it's a tie between Five Sisters in June and Blackpool Zoo in August, or vice versa. It would depend on how soon Blackpool's new big cat enclosures open (they've just said late Spring). Even if Five Sisters don't have the penguins by August, there are still plenty of other animals I want to see there.

Lions will be on show at Blackpool, by the start of June. Tigers shortly afterwards. Hope that helps.

Quick question: Does anyone know how many species of lemur there are at Five Sisters?

I know they have Ring-tails and B&W ruffed lemurs.. ZTL indicates that the zoo received Bamboo lemurs sometime ago and I saw a picture from Google maps showing a pair of Black lemur females.

I think they have the two you said plus Gray mouse lemur, not sure if they still have Brown lemur but AFAIK they don’t have Black lemurs. The Bamboos I have no clue where in the zoo they’d be.

Definitely have Grey Mouse Lemurs, Black & White Ruffed and Ring-Tailed Lemurs. On my latest visit in March, I don't recall any Black Lemurs, and they did have a Brown Lemur, but as others have said, this has since moved to Hoo Zoo.

Does anyone have a species list for the Lost Kingdom and/or the Castle Zoo? I've been looking over the updated website, and while a few reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates are listed in their animal A to Z section, I'm interested in knowing what else is in those two areas.
