Sad news to start 2023, 54-year-old female Gorilla Bafia has been PTS due to age-related health problems. She had been at Chessington since 1969.

they were told one got sick and the others died of heartbreak as is common in capybaras. Does anyone know if this is true? The capyabaras did seem a PR nightmare for Chessington so heartbreak seems a good way to go with the cause of death and doesn’t explain what happened to the first one
I was disappointed that no animals would move to the area especially seeing as mandrills and ostriches are themes of 2 of the ridesAs far as I am aware the new World of Jumanji area that opens in mid May does not feature any live animals so no species would be moving there.
The Sea Life centre has been closed since January for significant maintenance.
