Where can i find general news on American Zoos?

Hello everyone :)

As I'm from Germany, I was wondering if there exist any general newsletters on American zoos (about births, new constructions etc.).
I receive a weekly mail with an overview on press releases from all German zoos so is there something like that in the US, too?

I meant if there was a newsletter with all these news put together. So you don't need to search every thread.

Unfortunately there isn't exactly what you're looking for. There's significantly more zoos in the USA, so it would be a very long newsletter!

I'd suggest Germany isn't very far behind the US at all - ZTL lists about 1300 zoos under Germany, of which about 1050 are still open. What are the estimates for the US? I've seen figures of 600 or so quoted around the place but I'm sure they're missing many smaller facilities and the US still pips Germany.
 
Honestly, this website is probably the best place - the news is pretty up to date on all the major facilities and several smaller ones as well.

I think it might be a bit more about the size of facilities than the actual number, too? I've got nearly 2000 active places on my spreadsheet, but that includes some natural history museums; I'd put the number conservatively at 1500, maybe 1800. Not including traveling zoos or most domestic-only places.
