HorsePower is located in Oldsmar Florida, a suburb of Tampa. Originally this space was pretty "out there" compared to the bulk of the city, but over time it is solidly in the Tampa suburbs now.

This isn't a typical "roadside zoo" or rescue. They are a interesting combination of playground, animal rescue, horse riding, and small amusements for kids. They are open daily, but I have only ever gone on the "fundraising" days where they include everything in the entry charge. Normally horse/pony riding and the rides costs extra to the entry, but on the fundraising days they include it as well as set up bounce houses and similar attractions.

The animal areas are set up with the caged animals in the front near the entrance and then in two loops.

These animal cages include ring-tailed and ruffed lemur, squirrel monkeys, kinkajou, bushbaby, and lots of birds. This area also contains the petting zoo with goats, sheep, etc. and the main playground, as well as the train station.

The other main animal area surrounds a small lake which has lots of ducks, geese (Chinese and Canadian), mute swans, and other waterfowl. This area holds the yards for animals such as emu, dromedary camel, zorse, Hereford pig, cavy, and similar larger animals. The lake loop area also has the sulcata tortoise yards (3 yards, at least 7 animals), turkey, chickens, red fox, white fox, tayra, albino raccoon, and similar. A offshoot loop holds yards for white tailed deer, wolf-dog, camel, and a few other animals.

The bird area has mostly rescue parrots, a few macaws and a load of cockatoos. I actually previously did not know that area existed, so I don't have a good list of what was there, next time I go I will do a better inventory of that part.

Across from the birds are barns for horses and beside the barns are a few small buildings for sloths (2), bats, and a "herp house". The herp house only had a few tanks for ball pythons, presumably rescues as well. Beside the herp house is a few cages for coati, capybara, prairie dogs, and small mammals.

Overall this is a pretty cool place. The animals seem to be well cared for. If you cannot afford the entry fee they will cover it for you. I am not sure I would go here just to go, but it would be a good place to volunteer at or to go on event days. They have quite a few animals for any animal lover, and the setup is nice. It is GREAT for kids as they have a lot to do and the cost is reasonable on event days.

Honestly this is probably the most strange part of the place, it is very "home made" in all aspects.

I am not sure why that enclosure is so small, the white fox also had a small enclosure, which is strange because most of the animals have decent sized cages, but a few had oddly small cages, and they are not in want for space.

This is a newer cage, it was not there when I went here last year. There must have been 3 or 4 monkeys in the cage, it was overall a pretty decent sized space.
