To clarify — they did not physically receive the animal. They only received ownership of the animal. The animal was physically transferred to Micanopy.

The zoo has welcomed 6-year-old Masai Giraffe Zindzhi. She will be paired with Kellan, one of their four males for breeding.

It’s good to have confirmation of her final destination. She was housed with the Safari Park’s male “Gowon” right up until she left the park, so it is likely she’s already pregnant and the first calf born at Potawatomi will be his if it survives — she has not had good luck with calves thus far.
