Personally, I get the feeling this involves Howletts returning to a privately run family estate (accelerated by the imminent departure of the elephants) whilst fleecing the general public with overly elaborate experiences and accommodation at Port Lympne.

Clearly Damian doesn’t have time for the majority of animals in his care, the gorillas being the exception as they are intrinsically linked to the family. Nor do I suspect does he care what people think. So let’s get rid by “rewilding.” If it works it’s PR money can’t buy. If not, it’s tomorrow’s chip paper. And to Hell what anybody else says.
 
On my last visit a couple of weeks ago the dusky langurs in front of the tiger exhibit and the mangabeys next to the elephant enclosure had swapped places. I also saw some dusky langurs backstage, near the pied tamarin enclosure.

There are still Kudus in the Paddock by Elephants. Saw at least 4 of them last week. There was also Bongo in the Bongo exhibit so not sure what you mean by their old exhibit.

Probably been a while since I’ve been, last time I was there the Bongos were opposite the Dholes and the Kudu were by the deer park with the tapir

That's how they were for a long time. Have there been changes?, I don't quite understand.....
 
For at least the last 18 months, Sable Antelope have been opposite the Dholes.
The Bongo were next to the Tapir, then the Bongo left. Then the Tapir Died.
Then they got four or five new Bongo, which were back in those two paddocks which were probably where the Kudu were, Now there seems to be three Bongo.
The Kudu are mixed with the Sambar Deer, Ostrich, Waterbuck and Lechwe in the big middle paddock.

So the big central paddock ('deer park') is now mainly African-based then. It sounds good at least to give the Kudu more space than they had in that small paddock next to the Tapir. I thought Sambar were only at Port Lympne nowadays, but there were also Nilgai and Axis deer in there too I believe, maybe they have left too?

I haven't seen any axis deer or nilgai in my past few visits.
 
Coco arrived safely at West Midland Safari Park. We all know that he is an experienced bull, he's been in with female elephants and he sired lots of calves. Coco was very successful in Cabarceno Zoo Obregon, in Spain, he was successful at Howletts and there is no doubt that he'll be more successful at West Midland Safari Park
 
Based on this email from Howletts from 2021:

This is not the end for elephants at Howletts
Elephants are suffering all around the world and many – sadly – cannot be rewilded. Howletts Wild Animal Park aims to become a non-breeding sanctuary for these elephants; we will offer them a safe, comfortable home in which to live out the rest of their natural lives.

Is this still the plan after the current herd of elephants are sent out? Even after the KWS said they don't need more elephants but Aspinall's forging ahead with it anyways?

But how many breeding females does he have access to there?

Howletts uploaded a post yesterday to Facebook with a silhouette of some sort of canine/fox headshot, teasing a new announcement.

Loos like a Maned Wolf, Fennec Fox or (less likely) Bat-Eared Fox. One comment suggesting they are already on show and visitors had seen them. Any idea what they are?

If it is Maned wolf, this would mark the return of the species to an Aspinall park after many years (1990s?) absence, although I believe they were originally held at Port Lympne.
