On April 24th, it was reported that the zoo started work on a new expansion area which will include exhibits for tamarins, wallabies, and fossas. An exhibit for (1.1) Alaotran gentle lemurs (which arrived from the now-closed Bristol Zoo) will open in the summer of 2023.

It was also reported that the zoo acquired a (0.0.1) blacksmith lapwing from Birdland in the Cotswolds (they acquired the roller from the same place) which is now on exhibit in the African walkthrough aviary.

On May 2nd, the zoo announced that they refurbished their African-spurred tortoise exhibit.

On May 9th, the zoo announced they are reopening the African walkthrough aviary on May 13th after closing it in September 2022 due to avian influenza precautions.

On May 13th, the zoo announced the names of the plovers, Charles, Charlie, and Chas.

On June 15th, the zoo announced that its (1.0) Von der Decken's hornbill named Zazu lost both his upper and lower beak in two separate accidents though the bird is now recovering and might mate later in the year.

If anyone is interested in the origin of the De Brazza’s. The male is from Zoo Plzen and the female Nut came from Port Lypne Safari Park. They originally met Port Lypne Safari Park and then moved over to Fife Zoo.
