Mixed species exhibit ideas

Maybe with a secondary enclosure that cannot be reached by the elephants, it may work.
 
Zebra and meerkats?
Zebra and colobus?
Bearded vultures, bald ibis, speckled pigeons, superb starlings and hyrax?
 
This may be a silly question…
Could any species of African shark be held with African Penguins? I was thinking maybe there was one as the ones in SD have them with Leopard Sharks, but those aren’t native to Africa.
Sorry if it is a silly question :p

I think there should be some sort of in-between. As cat sharks would probably be too small and get eaten or nipped at by the penguins

I'd suggest either very large catsharks, or juvenile sand tiger sharks. Thornback rays would also be a good option, as they'd stick to the bottom.

Spiny dogfish and Common smooth-hound could also work if they're big enough

Could an African Angelshark work? Would it be too risky for the Penguin?

I believe Steinhart has or had pajama cat sharks in with their african penguins
 
Wanna mix tommies with something in a 2 acre paddock. What are some good options?

Only thing that's off limits is the white rhino. I have other plans.

This "rule" can apply to every "mix" between hoofstock and burrowing animals, for example Bison and Prairie Dogs.

Assuming you are referring to Thomson's Gazelle?

Milwaukee mixes them with Southern Ground Hornbill, Cinereous Vulture, Black Crowned Crane, and American White Pelican (formerly also Impala).

Yeah, them. I wanted to ask about blue wildebeest.
 
Would a very large (100ha) paddock be able to house a mix of these species?

A herd of around 15 Asian Elephants (cows and calves)
0.3 or 0.4 Indian Rhinos
2.0 Asiatic Water Buffalo
Around 15-20 Nilgai

About 10 Hog Deer, 80 Blackbuck , 20 Sambar, and 40 Chital Deer - these four would all be non-breeding and would also have access to:

Their own seperate yards;
A 60ha paddock for a bachelor group of elephants (up to 8) and more buffalo;
Four 10ha yards, two with breeding elephant bulls and another two with more rhinos.

There would also be an additional 95ha of paths that only the elephants could access, and a 2ha indoor area.

I understand that most of these exhibit sizes are larger than anything that any zoo has ever attempted before. Needless to say, the zoo I am planning this for would have a lot of land!
