A couple months later… I am finally back with an update!

Oregon Zoo (Portland, OR) -- 09 August 2023:
121. Baja blue rock lizard (Petrosaurus thalassinus)
122. Common giant plated lizard (Matobosaurus validus)
Just needed to get out of the house today, so I went for a drive and popped into a couple of smaller collections. Unfortunately, the island anole display at the California Science Center is no more — replaced by a display on different Uroplatus species.

Bolsa Chica Conservancy (Huntington Beach, CA) -- 29 August 2023:
123. Common side-blotched lizard (Uta stansburiana)

California Science Center (Los Angeles, CA) -- 29 August 2023:
124. Desert spiny lizard (Sceloporus magister)

Ah, that's kind of a shame from a species hunter perspective - though I personally like seeing Uroplatus more than anoles.

San Diego Zoo (Aug 31)
22. Plumed Basilisk (Basiliscus plumifrons)
23. Philippine Sailfin Lizard (Hydrosaurus pustulatus)
24. Emerald Tree Monitor (Varanus prasinus)
25. Blue Tree Monitor (Varanus macraei)
26. Shingleback Skink (Tiliqua rugosa)
27. Chiapan Beaded Lizard (Heloderma alvarezi)
28. Yellow-throated Plated Lizard (Gerrhosaurus flavigularis)
29. Giant Horned Lizard (Phrynosoma asio)
30. Cayman Blue Iguana (Cyclura lewisi)
31. Jamaican Iguana (Cyclura collei)
32. Pygmy Spiny-tailed Skink (Egernia depressa)
33. Armadillo Girdled Lizard (Ouroborus cataphractus)
34. Kimberley Rock Monitor (Varanus glauerti)
35. Sudan Plated Lizard (Broadleysaurus major)

Also saw a couple of unsigned lizards - a Zonosaurus at the reptile house and a couple of dwarf monitors over by the pygmy hippos. Hopefully will get those identified soon!
Most of the anole species would have been new for me, so it was disappointing from that perspective — that said, it was very interesting to see U. sikorae, U. fimbriatus, and U. henkeli displayed right next to each other.

The plated lizard should be Broadleysaurus major while the monitors should be Varanus glauerti — they’re brand new! I haven’t seen them yet, myself.

Oh nice, thanks! Kimberley Rock was the one I was leaning towards the most, but a few of those small Australian species apparently look quite similar.

Interesting on the Sudan Plated; this one was mixed with Spider Tortoises and had two distinct yellow lines on its back, so I thought it was a Malagasy girdled lizard of some kind. Looking at it again now it does have sizable plate scales and a large head though. I'll note it as B. major for now, but will also upload a photo to the gallery :)

Of note, I also saw a couple of the wild Flat-tailed House Geckos that live in the enclosures; not technically captive, but they *are* a lizard :p no luck on seeing one of the Green Anoles, though.
