Interesting on the Sudan Plated; this one was mixed with Spider Tortoises and had two distinct yellow lines on its back, so I thought it was a Malagasy girdled lizard of some kind. Looking at it again now it does have sizable plate scales and a large head though. I'll note it as B. major for now, but will also upload a photo to the gallery :)

Of note, I also saw a couple of the wild Flat-tailed House Geckos that live in the enclosures; not technically captive, but they *are* a lizard :p no luck on seeing one of the Green Anoles, though.

I visited today, and the plated lizards have swapped since my last visit — the B. major is now in the outdoor exhibit with the radiated tortoises, while the G. flavigularis is now in the inside exhibit with the spider tortoises.

That is the one I was told was the A. martindelcampoi. There’s slightly more banded ones in the neighboring tank that are light-morph A. taeniata according to the herp staff.

Hey Jonathan, welcome to the game :) you are more than welcome to join, but due to a deadline rule I have for late joins (explained in the opening post of this thread) I can only count your two most recent zoo visits and then all later visits going forward. So your starting list will be whatever primates you saw at San Diego Zoo, and then either Birmingham or your most recent Cincinnati visit (whichever was more recent).

I'll let you rewrite your list accordingly, as I'm guessing a few of the primates you listed from earlier zoos you also saw on your two most recent visits (ex. San Diego) and can therefore still count.

Let me know if any of that doesn't make sense and I'll try my best to clarify!

Due to the uncertainty as to whether or not the spiny lizards in the Arroyo Lagarto exhibit at the Los Angeles Zoo were wild or actually a part of the collection, I have gone ahead and removed them from my count. The following update reflects this:

I know I'm a super late entrant, and I know there were rules laid out about only counting my two most recent visits, so I don't particularly care about being included in the rankings - don't even feel compelled to tally me up. I'm just curious about how well I actually would've done if I'd been tracking these all along. I put it off thinking I wouldn't have very impressive numbers compared to most, but now I think I might have surprised myself. As for primates vs. lizards, there was never any doubt which I'd have opted for. That said, if you do feel inclined to include my list for completeness's sake or whatever, Knoxville and Greenville would be my two most recent visits.

Brights in particular was a bit of a mess. They have colobuses, which USDA (not the most reliable narrator, I'm aware) lists as Angolan but for some reason I left the facility quite certain they were mantled guereza. Thankfully I saw both species elsewhere, so that's ultimately a non-issue. The zoo's signage also didn't indicate a common name species for its white-fronted capuchin and "owl monkey", but it did list the two scientific names I've indicated, which are corroborated (to whatever extent it counts, I realize they likely all just chained off of each other) by USDA and the Gibbons, Geladas, and Guenons Galore thread so I'm comfortable enough including them.

Additionally, if I actually had been listing these as I went along, there's a good chance I could've included the fairly rare Diana monkey that Riverbanks kept prior to their last one's death in March-ish. I just can't find proof I actually visited the zoo in January or February of this year. Whoops! I probably also would've put additional effort into catching Disney's white-cheeked gibbons and collared brown lemurs. So it goes.

So all in all, 34 unique species, which is all but guaranteed to be my final count. Far from a game winning amount (which, again, I didn't even start logging in time to properly participate so lol), but still much higher than I would've expected.
