This is just a bit of fun to judge the general consensus on the best enclosure for Bongos in the Benelux. I have added a few photos from the gallery to make it easier for members to compare the different exhibits. If anyone wants to make an argument for a particular enclosure, please feel free to do so. Also, I would encourage people to list the enclosures in order of what they think is best.

Monde Sauvage

Unfortunately there are no photos of the exhibit in the gallery. If someone could describe the enclosure or provide a photo that would be great.

The bongos at Monde Sauvage are kept in their drive-through safari exhibit with a variety of other hoofstock species. Here's a few pictures of that exhibit. Also this exhibit has some areas with trees it is mostly a savanna exhibit.

I have only seen Antwerp's, so am definitely not the most insightful voter here, but I thought it was an excellent enclosure. Not too spacious, but beautifully planted and designed, with mature trees, extensive foliage and a pool. The sight of bongos quietly appearing in and out of the bamboo was lovely, and fit the peaceful, historic ambience of the zoo very well (of course not something that the bongos care about all too much, but it does help the enclosure's case for me).

Have voted Antwerp in the meantime, but would be happy to change if more experienced members can put forth a compelling argument for the other enclosures, as they all look excellent.

I have voted for Planckendael. The enclosure is still brand new this year, but it is very nicely done: spacious, diverse terrain, a few shady areas with trees and bushes, and even a small swamp area which I've seen the bongo herd make use of.

If it was not for the new Planckendael exhibit, I would probably have voted for Antwerp's enclosure. It is somewhat small, but well planted and very effectively designed for the species.

The Rotterdam enclosure is also very nice, but doesn't really stand out in my opinion. The main safari exhibit at Monde Sauvage also works surprisingly well for the species, but I wouldn't have voted for it because I'm not used to the idea of bongos living on what is essentially a savannah exhibit. Rhenen has without doubt the poorest of the five bongo enclosures in the Low Countries.

Score update. Planckendael are out in front again with another nice hoofstock exhibit. If they win this, it will place them in second for overall wins after Burgers.

Poll closed. Congratulations to Planckendael for having the Best Bongo enclosure in the Benelux. The new exhibit gave them a good amount of the vote. They will now be facing off against he current winning zoo in the UK poll, Longleat, in the final.

Planckendael: 60.0%
Rotterdam: 15.0%
Antwerp: 15.0%
Monde Sauvage: 10.0%
