I was wondering how many public European collections hold Japanese Spider Crabs (Macrocheira kaempferi). They fascinated me back when Sea Life London had some in a temporary exhibition, but since they unfortunately left (in 2016, I believe), I wasn't sure how many, if any, European zoos still held them. A quick search of the ZooChat Media Gallery suggests that the following collections have held them at some point fairly recently, but I am not sure whether any of them still do, and, of course, I would be very interested to hear of any more:
- Blue Planet Aquarium (UK)
- Sea Life Alton Towers (UK)
- Sea Life Manchester (UK)
- Sea Life Scarborough (UK)
- Sea Life Great Yarmouth (UK)
- Sea Life Brighton (UK)
- Sea Life Blackpool (UK)
- Sea Life Blankenberge (BE)
- Sea Life Istanbul (TR)
- L'Oceanografic Valencia (ES)
- Oceanario Lisboa (PO)
Thanks in advance!
