Anyone want to help me start a North American Population thread for Amur leopards? They have quickly become one of my favorites! I am not sure how to start one exactly so any suggestions are welcome! Maybe start with listing the ones you know of in your local zoos? Thanks!

Here is what I have for this, there are gaps/ questions /and updates I would like to find but this should be a good start for a who is who and where.9E663424-3F50-4347-8E3D-EEE6C78E05CA.jpeg1EFF2A90-F2A4-4E7F-8515-3B242568DDEB.jpeg

Thank you for posting your list.

Kasha moved to Potawatomi sometime in April 2023 and was posted on their social media on May 4. Anastasia/Lisa, who you have noted at Potawatomi, is still at Brookfield Zoo. The female named Anastasia at Potawatomi is the one born on 2/10/20 at Greenville Zoo.

Some other additions/changes to note to your list above:

  • Mischa, listed at Tanganyika Wildlife Park, is at Panther Ridge Conservation Center in Florida and periodically features in social media posts by that facility.
  • Semba, female, birth date 2/4/16, is at Pittsburgh Zoo and is the mother of the 2 cubs born on 3/18/23
  • Koshka, listed at Exotic Feline Breeding Compound, moved to Hemker Park & Zoo after EFBC closed in February 2023
  • Zeya, listed at Exotic Feline Breeding Compound, moved to Monterey Zoo after EFBC closed in February 2023
  • Unknown female born on 6/28/16 listed at Chicago Zoological Society (Brookfield Zoo) is Kira (born at Twycross Zoo in England), who's at Memphis Zoo
  • Unknown male at Granby Zoo is named Argoun (born at Mulhouse Zoo in France)
  • The female at Bramble Park Zoo is named Freya
  • Unknown female born 4/21/14 at Tanganyika Wildlife Park is named Allie. I don't know if she's still at Tanganyika, though. Tiger Haven in Tennessee appears to have 3 Amur leopards named Allie, Ivan and Anya based on the photos of adoptable cats on their website, and it's possible she now lives there.
  • Project Survival Cat Haven has 2 Amur leopard sisters, Hannah and Jane, who were born at Tanganyika Wildlife Park on 7/7/13

Thank you very much for your very helpful input. I refreshed my list as best I could but have omitted the Leopards listed at Tiger Haven since it is very difficult to pin point the identity of these animals without their biographies.

Since studbooks go several years between posting and animals housed in non SSP facilities often get lost to follow up I find trying to keep track of births, transfers and deaths something worth trying to keep evergreen. Thank you very much again.
