Giraffes in the UK

When I was at Chester last week, I’m pretty sure there was 8 giraffe

Meru who was split from the others in the house and Dagmar, Orla, Milly, Karamoja, Albert and Stanley. There was one other whose name I didn’t note down.

Only Orla is a breeding mare and all the other females were on a contraceptive the keeper said. Orla has of course had 4 offspring now, with her latest in September. So it would be 2024 before the chance of any other babies.

Tula (born 2010) is the only other female I can think of that's missing
 
Does anyone know the status of these Rothschild giraffe from Woburn safari park? If died what year

Savannah - born 1998 (arrived from Edinburgh)
Danika- born 2003
Frankie - born 2005
Freya - born 2005
Keira - born 2010
Kimmie - born 2010
Lyndsey - born 2011
Majesty(may have been renamed) - born 2012
Maya - born 2012
Prudence - born 2015

I know 3 females
(Irsuluh born 2008 moved to Marwell 2011, Lunar & Lehanna both born 2011 moved to Port Lympne )
have been rehomed along with a number of males.

Close:D Jambo is a Rothschild(born Woburn 2009) Jengo & Palle are Reticulated born 2010/2011ish. I believe Palle came from Copenhagen zoo and was a similar age to the ill-fated Marius who apparently YWP also offered to re-home( this ill fated story doesn't need re-covering)

Female Luna
2016/ Nuru born to savannah / Bashu
One more female who is Luna mum..
Presume this year either the Male Bashu will be moved on or the female Nuru so she can be a mum…
 
As posted earlier on Blair Drummond thread that the oldest giraffe in the UK died yesterday.

Announced today that hybrid female Keisha (born in 1998) has died.

Giraffe Florrie and Janica at Paignton - are they still there and alive not sure but think they no longer there
 
I believe they're both still alive & there, no transfers have been announced and the last death was Sangha. Personally I'd like Eliska(Yoda x Janica) & Florrie(Yoda x Sangha) stay as the new breeding females & move
 
Banham announced today that their eldest giraffe Fiona has died.

Fiona was 19yrs old and arrived in 2007 from Ireland(Belfast or Fota?)

Hmm.......Florries last photos or videos I found are from november 2022. Janicas last - this year
in summer (Tripadvisor/Flick/Zoochat/youtube) so hope to find soon any footstep of both again.

She arrived from Fota. In Banham she had two calfs.....Josie (2008) still now at Dudley
and Victor(2010) died 2017 at Banham
