What’s going in the aviary? I actually saw it when I went to the zoo yesterday!

If you mean species-wise, there will be eight. Those being blue-bellied rollers, snowy-crowned robin-chats, speckled mousebirds, Lady Ross's turacos, superb starlings, "some fancy pigeon", and another I don't know.

A new giraffe statue has been placed in front of the enclosure. It is nowhere near full-size.

After a string of announcements about new enclosures or renovations to existing enclosures, there are signs up outside of the gibbon enclosure stating that their exhibit will be reworked so that it is much taller. Personally, I hope this ends up being similar to the enclosures in Akron and Nashville, but I'm not sure if the project is extensive enough for that. If the majority of the walls and the holding structure are maintained, then it probably won't be as impressive. Construction is scheduled to begin in a few weeks.

The zoo posted a photo today of the gibbon exhibit on facebook... or at least a photo of where the exhibit used to be. It looks like they are keeping the current holding building but building a completely new outdoor exhibit.

On October 13th, it was announced that the zoo transferred a (1.0) southern tamandua named Chuck to the Elmwood Park Zoo in Pennsylvania.*

On November 28th, it was reported that the zoo acquired a (1.0) red panda named Kendji from the Cincinnati Zoo in Ohio.

The gibbon enclosure renovations are done, or at least very close to it. A Facebook post states Ari has quickly adjusted to her new home whilst Quon is more hesitant.

Hmm... I think hopefully the zoo adds a lot more greenery come springtime cause right now even though its winter it looks... dead and kind of lifeless.
