According to zootierliste, a pair of Yellow-billed amazons (Amazona collaria) has moved to Walsrode from Prague Zoo.

Also, according to recent edits on zootierliste, Wattled Jacanas seem to still be kept at the park (since 2022); however, if this is true, they are be kept behind the scenes.

A small update, according to Zootierliste:
- 1,0 Lesser Antillean bullfinch (Loxigilla noctis) - From Wilhelma.
- Yellow oriole (Icterus nigrogularis) - From Wilhelma
- Island canary (Serinus canaria)
- House finch (Haemorhous mexicanus)
- 4,1 Northern gannet (Morus bassanus) - From Wilhelma.

Were are the gannets in the park. When I was first there, they had them together with the penguins. And from what I heared they breed often in Stuttgard. And they are rare in zoos, I hope their breeding succes does not stop in Walsrode

It's not known yet where in the park they will be kept as they are new for this year (they haven't kept the species for some years), but I have heard that they will not be kept with the penguins this time. Therefore, I would assume they are either in the wave machine hall (Wellenanlage) or the large aviary with sea ducks (eiders, etc). But who knows :D

I know they did not have them for some time (I visted thesecond time last year). But I am just curious, since they are many mutlible possilbe places to hosue them, with so many pound exhibits for water fowl

I don't think the gannets have bred in Stuttgart in recent years and I counted only some 5 gannets there in September, so these are likely the final ones.

Another small update with new species, according to Zootierliste:
- Malay crestless fireback (Lophura erythrophthalma)
- Erckel's francolin (Pternistis erckelii)
- Red-legged partridge (Alectoris rufa)
- Rock partridge (Alectoris graeca)
- Lady Amherst's pheasant (Chrysolophus amherstiae)
- Golden pheasant (Chrysolophus pictus)

Also, at least two species are no longer kept:
- Rock pratincole (Glareola nuchalis liberiae)
- Bar-backed partridge (Arborophila brunneopectus)

Sad news, but Walsrode doesn't seem to keep gilded barbets anymore. I do know that they were down to only one individual some years ago, and it seem like that last individual died in 2022, leaving European zoos with another loss of a very rare species.

Very sad, I heard about they have bred this species (12 individuals born) around 2016-19, I wonder which scope can cause a massive death or are they sent to private holders

I don't know about private holders, but WVP Walsrode did send some birds (at least 1 pair) to Faunia Nature Park in Madrid (Spain), but these later moved to Selwo Marina (also in Spain) around 2020, and after some year or so there, they seem to have vanished.

Another update:
- Eastern rosella (Platycercus eximius eximius)
- Red-winged parrot (Aprosmictus erythropterus)
- Philippine duck (Anas luzonica)
- Hawaiian goose (Branta sandvicensis)
- Southern screamer (Chauna torquata)
- Silver-tipped imperial pigeon (Ducula luctuosa)
- South Georgia pintail (Anas georgica georgica)
- Mohol bushbaby (Galago moholi)

I just received a newsletter from the park mentioning that it opens one day earlier for season card holders. But that's not all; they also teased what are most likely two new attractions/areas in the park called "Reich der Mitte" and "Nachtwelten."

The name "Reich der Mitte" translates to "Middle Kingdom" in English, which is a traditional term for China. Therefore, one could expect this area to be Chinese-themed, or at least have birds/animals from that region.

"Nachtwelten" translates to "Night Worlds," so I guess you got your answer regarding the plans for the bushbaby ;)

Looking at the direction, of how the zoo is going, and visiting avifauna, they will get 100% Red Pandas

Already another post, this time with some new species that just got updated on zootierliste.

A very nice list:
- Laysan duck (Anas laysanensis)
- Mulga parrot (Psephotellus varius)
- Ornate lorikeet (Saudareos ornata)
- Hawaiian duck (Anas wyvilliana)
- Slate-coloured seedeater (Sporophila schistacea)
- Chestnut-bellied seedeater (Sporophila castaneiventris)
- Wing-barred Seedeater (Sporophila americana)
- Ruddy-breasted seedeater (Sporophila minuta)
- Lined seedeater (Sporophila lineola)
- Chestnut-bellied seed-finch (Sporophila angolensis)

Walsrode is therefore the only European zoo keeping these species of seedeaters, and several of them are not kept in any other zoo worldwide (according to zootierliste).
A great addition at Walsrode!
