I'm making a list of all the gray seals in North America. It only takes into account the permanent residents held in zoological institutions. Some information is missing and there might be errors, so feel free to add any new info or make corrections if something is wrong.

I mentioned it in the facility thread but sadly Delphine passed sometime between 2020-2023 per this source: Another beluga dies at Marineland in 15th whale death in recent years
She had been at Marineland since early to mid 1980s.

On another note I am impressed by Brookfield’s Louisville, and Smithsonian’s populations- wonder if there might be any pregnancies.
 
Lily and Tasha do not currently live at Brookfield. I’m not sure if they have been transferred or have deceased.

Boone at Louisville Zoo was not born at Brookfield Zoo. He was born elsewhere, but can’t remember where.

According to MMIR Boone born at Toledo Zoo, Lily and Tasha both passed away at 11/18/2020

Echo, is a rescued juvenile female who has a congenital heart defect and because of that she was deemed unreleasable. Mystic Aquarium was chosen to be her permanent home, but according to some regulars she is not living at the Pacific Northwest habitat, so I don't know if she is living behind-the-scenes or if she has died.

Replying to an older post but when I went in August, a keeper said the females were on BC. No idea if that has changed in the months since then.

Regarding ancestry: Spike and Pattie were born to Lucy and Snoopy, and Boone was born to Tuffin and Spike (all based on MMIR data). I've been unable to figure out the parents of Gunther and Minnow, but I can confirm that Njal was their father. The possible mothers for both were named Sophie, Gram, and Polly.
