After Dusit Zoo closed in 2018, Now they are building a new zoo "Royal Biopark" in Pathum Thani Province. Provinces bordering Bangkok to the north It is planned to open in 2027. One interesting animal is the Okapi, a rainforest giraffe.
For Europeans and Americans, Okapi may not be exciting. But in Asia there are only 1 or 2 countries (Japan, maybe United Arab Emirates) where it is exhibited. In Southeast Asia, Thailand will be the only country with okapi on display.

I wouldn't put much faith in this happening. Dusit had signage up for Okapi for years.

The new park housing Okapi is expected to open in 2025.
Wow Very interesting and a good news. The Singapore Zoo and Thai Zoo are very close. Having okapi at both sites will create a sustainable okapi conservation project in SEA.

Excuse my ignorance but are singapore opening another zoo?

Yes, a new rainforest-themed zoo will partially open later this year that is part of the Mandai Wildlife Reserve cluster of zoos (Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders and Bird Paradise).

Do you know how far the building work has come? Any ground plans for the various zones and themes for the new Dusit Zoo?
The exhibit and plan is out for public in fb now. But can’t upload here to let you guys see it. Awesome high standard world class zoo in the making !

Do You have more information on the latest developments on building of the new Dusit Zoo on the outskirts of Bangkok and more design plans for the various habitats and the overall new zoo plan?

Thanks for uploading the You Tube video. There is a lot in the plans we can follow, including the different Continental zones and the innovative concept of a cleaned up wetland and filtration system. The video contains an overview of the various zones by theme and further details are filled in as to general species collection listing for each habitat zone. If you follow it by the letter you can make out all the species that the new Dusit National Zoo intends to exhibit. I am looking forward to the final opening of the new zoo. Certainly, very ambitious it is ...
