Great work! A couple corrections from recent events though. All of the point dolphins recently got moved to the Rescue Center and Dolphin Point is currently closed for renovations. Belle and Razzle have been moved to Dolphin Stadium and will remain there until the construction has finished. The pools at point have been drained and the area is now completely boarded off from the main path. No official announcement yet from SeaWorld on what the revolution will entail.

Do you remember around which dates they were in the backpools/rescue pools? I can try to find videos when they were there to find which dolphins they are. I remember back when I went in late June, that Tobie was there a few weeks prior, and there was a different dolphin living in that area, who I would assume to be Cascade before her death. I'm going to try to do a listing of who's in each area.
It would be late July to August that the dolphins were back there. I highly doubt there will be any videos as SeaWorld strictly prohibits all photography in the rescue center and visitors are not allowed to visit with a normal park ticket.

It's preeeetty surprising Belle and Razzle at the Stadium, probably due to breeding purposes.

Yes, none of us were allowed to take pictures or videos back there. From what I saw, there was one dolphin back there.

SeaWorld San Diego Updates
The park rescued a six-month old stranded Long-Beaked Common Dolphin. Due too his young age of under a year old, he will be deemed non-releasable by NOAA and will hopefully be able to remain at San Diego where introductions could occur between him and their current Common Dolphin Hybrid female.
SeaWorld San Diego on Instagram: "Today on World Wildlife Day we share the story of a stranded long-beaked common dolphin that SeaWorld Rescue recovered in late January. He was found at roughly 6 months old, undernourished and suffering from a broken jaw. The SeaWorld Rescue team gave 24-7 care during the early weeks of his recovery, staying with by his side during even the worst of our recent rainstorms. To ensure his safety as he regained his strength, he wore a custom life-vest sewn by the SeaWorld costuming team. The rescue team's efforts were made possible thanks to the collaborative support and dedication of our park teams and ambassadors. Special shout out to the culinary team who helped by supplying the SeaWorld Rescue with warm food and LOTS of coffee as they gave round-the-clock care. We share this story today to recognize and celebrate the incredible work of our Animal Care Team, as well as the important contribution of every ambassador towards animal care and conservation."

New aviaries have been constructed at the entrance of the park for Great Blue Turaco and Southern Bald Ibis, two species which were previously off-display. Hopefully this is a sign the park will put more of it's amazing avian collection on display instead.

One of the park's female walrus Chou Chou has supposedly been moved to the Orlando park but no official announcement from SeaWorld has been made as of yet.

The Jewels of the Sea Aquarium is almost finished with construction and will open later this spring with early access to passholders coming soon.

Was at Orlando park this week and can confirm that Chou Chou is there.
Who has she been introduced too so far? Glad to know it seems she has settled in alright!

Forgot to mention in my original post but Dolphin Point construction has finished with no major changes to the habitat.

On May 22nd, the marine park announced its name, Cardiff.

SeaWorld San Diego Dolphin Calf | The incredible dolphin calf who was rescued this past January has now officially been named! After polling SeaWorld's ambassadors to vote for his name,... | By SeaWorld San DiegoFacebook

On May 29th, the marine park announced that they acquired a (0.1) southern sea otter named Rey in February from the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California which is now on display in the Wild Arctic area.

I visited the park today, and I have a couple of updates!

"Cardiff" the 1.0 rescued common dolphin calf is, indeed, in the Dolphin Stadium pools and is visible from the viewing area behind the stadium! He is quite adorable! This was my first time seeing this species, and they are truly striking.

In addition to the Humboldt penguins, a single rescued Brandt's cormorant is also on display in the former sea otter exhibit next to Dolphin Point.

The sea otters have moved to the former polar bear exhibit in Wild Arctic replacing the seals (harbor and single "ringed").

I visited today and had a fun time! I don’t have too much to report, but I do have a little question.

During the Sea Lion show, partway through, the larger Sea Lion who plays as “Clyde” was playing the part meant to be played by “Seymour”. I assume “Seymour” chose not to participate and they just used the larger sea lion in its place. Has anyone else seen something like this happen before?

I know I said I didn’t have much to report but eh what the hell I’ll make one. This was my first visit here!

I thought the variety of touch tanks near the entrance containing Garra rufa, bamboo, and epaulette sharks was a good way to get families engaged with the exhibitory as soon as they enter.

The California moray eel tank has the greatest visibility of morays I’ve seen in any aquarium to be honest. It was nice to be able to get a good view of them although otherwise it isn’t too crazy. I wish the octopus and crab viewing near the morays wasn’t so solely kid-focused but I’m glad younger guests have something to be engaged with.

The pilot whales participated in the dolphin show (I know they don’t always join) but they did not do group behaviors with the pod of dolphins.

The not-too-bright-lighting in combination with the cloudy painted sky creates a nice vibe inside shark encounter. Plus you can’t go wrong with a nice underwater shark tunnel! The lemon shark was a highlight here.

The sheer number of sea turtles in their dedicated exhibit was a nice change of pace compared to my closest aquarium (National), which exhibits few-no turtles at a time. I did only see loggerheads when there was signage for green and hawksbill sea turtles as well. Are they on exhibit and I just missed them or are there only loggerheads at the moment?

At sea lion point, an employee told me the group of sea lions there are usually all female but that they’ve just introduced a male (which I did see). Can anyone corroborate this? I also didn’t see the Guadalupe fur seals. I don’t know if I just missed them or if they were taken off exhibit. The harbor seals were still at the exhibit.

I got to see an Asian small-clawed otter training session at the sloth area which was interesting to watch. The session seemed focused on rewarding the otter any time it put its hands on a small silver target.

Penguin encounter’s visibility is a bit limited due to the dim red lights the exhibit currently has. I’m aware this is in place to match Antarctica’s day/night cycle, which is amazing for the penguins. Although this made the penguins harder to see, it did not take away from the impressiveness of the exhibit. I noticed a few emperors (maybe kings?) in the enclosed area on the side. Are they incubating eggs?

At wild arctic, the sea otters were all out and active during a feeding session. It was amazing to watch the large group of otters in their spacious enclosure. Regarding the walruses, Dozer was a no-show today so Basilla was the star today. Does anyone know where the harp seals that reportedly used to live at wild arctic may be?

I was disappointed that the jewels of the sea jellyfish exhibit was not open by the time of my visit. Hopefully it opens soon.

Kalia, Ulises, and Makani were the three killer whales who participated in the orca encounter I attended.

Overall I really enjoyed myself! The shows were all fun and I felt like I managed to catch more zookeepers interacting with animals and discussing with guests than at other zoos I’ve visited, though this may just have been luck. On a future San Diego visit I’ll most likely be coming back (it probably helps that I’m a ride fan as well).
